We had an excellent guide for our tour who was willing to rearrange some of the details. As we had already visited Memphis a couple of weeks earlier, we were not inclined to go there again, so we were able to spend more time at Saqqara and Dahshur. Our guide Henry had worked four years with Hawi Zawass and was an experienced Egyptologist so he was knowledgeable about many aspects of the sites. It was not just book learning. He showed us part of the Saqqara site that many tourists don’t get to see and that were important to us, like the inside of the pyramid of Unas and the pyramid texts. He and the driver were patient with us when we wanted a closer look at the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur to collect stone souvenirs. They found us a rest room in the middle of the desert at a carpet weaving shop and stopped for water as well. I highly recommend them. They were on time picking us up and dropping us off at the Sphinx as we requested. A really wonderful experience. Nancy Welsh

Excellent and funny guide – patiently answered my million questions.
At mid day I was hungry so we stopped at a really nice outdoor restaurant for a late lunch.

Highly professional service with knowledgeable and easy to understand guide. He was cool with us showing up an hour later than the tour was supposed to happen and he even picked us up from the faraway airport at a reasonable fee and took us to all places listed in the web page, along with the option of seeing other shops along the way. Our other tour guide mislead us into going to these shops where you get pressured into buying things you don’t want I think they get money to do this but our guide for this tour was upfront about it and didn’t mind not going. We got to see some pretty amazing things! He was also great at keeping those who wished to extort money from us in other ways out of our reach, so it was almost like having a bodyguard there with you, which is really comforting in Egypt. Our other tour guide also hiked up the price quite a bit and then made us pay for each site. This guide on the other hand is at a very reasonable price and the price of admission to all of these sites is included. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Cairo!! :

Adel was a great guide. He has a wealth of knowledge, and will give you as much or litttle as you want.
He also tailored the trip and was not pushing the stops at shopping places (which is typical).
Would recommend this, but ask specifically for Adel.

We were picked up promptly by our guide Shrouk, a very pleasant and knowledgeable Egyptologist, and our first stop was Saqqara and the step pyramid and funerary complex of King Djoser, Shrouk explained everything in great detail, she was very attentive making sure my husband who walks with a stick was safe at all times. We were then very surprised to offered the chance to go inside the pyramid of King Unas, this is a small pyramid but beautifully decorated inside, with the walls carved with hieroglyphics. The attendants for a small tip, shone a torch on to the alabaster sarcophagus and a imagine of the King in base relief. We then returned to the car to go to Dahshur, stopping on the way at a carpet school, with a large shop attached, where we were shown many carpets but with no pressure to buy. At Dahshur, is the 4th dynasty pyramids of King Sneferu, we drove past the red pyramid, and walked round the bent pyramid and when we got behind the pyramid, we saw the Queen or Ka pyramid, which we went into and found it enjoyable. We were then surprised again when we found we could go into the Bent pyramid as well. This pyramid was the most difficult to enter, as the entrance corridor is very long and steep, (on hands and knees or crouching) to the bottom, and then 110 wooden steps to get to the top, to the burial chamber. We then made are way back to the car, and drove to the red pyramid. There we were given a very informative history of the 2 pyramids, but we decided not to go into the Red pyramid as we were both quite tired at this stage. The entrance to the Red pyramid is a steep climb up as the entrance is half way up the side. We then drove to Memphis for quick visit as there is nothing to see there apart from a few statues.
We highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in pyramids and the Egyptology..
A VERY big thank you to Shrouk who is an excellent guide.

As usual with Viator…..we had an excellent tour. Our guide spoke excellent English and made changes to the itinerary due to my mobility problems. He was knowledgeable and gave us an in depth overview of the three sites. We then visited the Coptic Church in a Cave which was very interesting.

Took tour with guide Walid and driver Anwar. When Walid realized that I was interested in history and culture, he talked not only about the sites, but of Egypt in general. I was very impressed.

The best of the tours we took due to the knowledge of our tour guide Titto! He was so inspiring and helped us to memorize information he gave us about the history. Our tour guide was a very kind person and cared to give us the best experience and general tips for Egypt. Thanks to him we know a lot more and love Egypt more! What we liked about this tour is that it included not so common and not so visited, but really valuable sites. We also appreciate our skillful driver Omar for his peacefulness while driving and the cleanness of the vehicle. Everything on this tour will be stored in our memory forever and we are so thankful for this experience!

Great tour of Saqqara and Dahshur. I really enjoyed being able to walk around the pyramid sites, and the guide was very informative and helpful in explaining the history and development of the sites on the tour.

Galal’s tour was superb. His depth of knowledge was evident in his substantive insights and answers. He brought to life the day-to-day activities portrayed on the walls of the ancient Egyptian tombs and wrapped them into the pharaonic culture in which Egypt flourished for thousands of years. Galal was also flexible and expanded the sites on the itinerary to include gems not often visited by other groups.
Galal’s expertise, together with Omar’s excellent driving through Cairo’s crowded streets, made this tour stand out among the many I have previously experienced.

Great day out. Our guide Mahmoud was fantastic, very knowledgeable and very helpful. He tailored the day to suit us which was most appreciated. Would highly recommend the tour along with Mahmoud and the driver. thank you for a great day.

We had a private day tour for the two of us with Rasha, which was nice. She was friendly and spoke good English. We felt a little rushed at some of the stops along the way, and some of the historical information seemed a bit off, but overall it was an ok experience. Afterwards we were given the option to go to an essential oils shop where we kind of felt pressured into buying from them, and then onto a shop that showed us how to make paper from papyrus, which was pretty cool.
Long story short: be firm with what you want to see and do in order to have the guide accommodate you.

It was an amazing experience. Mahmoud Badr was our tour guide in the 3 sites of Saqqara, Memphis and Dahshur. He is a great story teller and made us feel like we were back in the past as we watched all the sites. We had plenty of time to see everything and never felt rushed. Our driver Ghazal was also very friendly and funny. We felt totally safe. My wife and I would totally recommend this experience..

Fantastic day, our guide Mohamed made the tour interesting and enjoyable. Going into the bent pyramid was unexpected and that was great though quite hard work, though glad we did it. Overall highly recommended.
