Loved our tour. Our guide was enthusiastic and historically informative. We walked a lot and got our exercise. Our guide showed us many of the must see monuments in a short time. We walked through the Great Bazaar and Spice Market too. Our guide was friendly and fun and kept us on our toes. We took the tour in English, but we were an international small group with some from Brazil, Italy and USA.

This tour was excellent. Erol is an excellent tour guide. He was well informed, engaging and gave us some great local tips that came in handy throughout the rest of our trip. We were in a small group which made it much easier to follow and ask questions. The tour gave us a bit of understanding about Istanbuls history and some ideas of what we wanted to see more of. It was the perfect way to start our trip.

First of all, our guide Erol was great and did a great job.
The tour itself is not designed well, however. It doesn’t include entry into a single monument. So you basically walk around the sights but don’t actually get to experience them at all. The only place the guide takes you inside is his preferred store inside the Spice Bazaar where, of course, the visitors spend a lot of money. How convenient, right?

This walking by tour was excellent. I recommend doing this early in your trip to get an understanding of the Old City. Erol, my guide, was super informative. After the tour, I felt like I could navigate old city on my own! Looking forward to going inside many of the sights later in my trip.
