The tour was both educational and lots of fun. We got to visit two vineyards and a little tour of Stellenbosch town, getting to know about the town’s historical buildings. Our tour guide was accommodative. I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone traveling to Cape Town. The convenience of the hotel pick up and drop off was the cherry on top, especially after drinking a total of 9 wines, lol.

The memorable part was learning about one, fermentation period as well as maturity. The ladies at both 2 estates explained well I kept that.
The tour guard Chris was the best, friendly and enthusiastic. He taught was were the 1st wine originated from and drove through stellenbosch. He explained from school, University, religion, culture etc.

Súper nice guy Amazing tour great wine and view couldn’t ask for better
I’ll recommend this place if you in the area

Brilliant trip. Guide was very informative and took us to 2 vineyards. Beautiful country and would definitely recommend.

Luvuyo was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He was sensitive to the groups wishes and adjusted our schedule accordingly. Everyone was thrilled.

We spent a delightful afternoon tasting beautiful wines in Stellenbosch! We’ll worth the time. Lu knew exactly where to go to give us the best experience.

  7. Itumeleng_M

Getting to know the different wines and how they were made.
It was interesting to see how many wine farms estates they are.Beautiful sceneries.I would love to revisit again

We really enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot about the history of the area and quite a bit about the local wines. The guide was great and the van was very comfortable. Also the wineries were generous with their tasting!

This was a well organised and extremely enjoyable tour where we met a number of friendly and interesting travellers/holiday-makers. From the moment Basil collected us from our hotel, we were in excellent hands. We visited two beautiful vineyards and sampled their wines/cheese/meats with informative guidance from the vineyard staff. Between the two visits we stopped in the delightful town of Stellenbosch for coffee and shopping which was a lovely added extra. However, the highlight of the tour was Basil’s narration of our drive. He is a knowledgeable and optimistic man who gave us a wonderful history of his town. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and felt that we managed to pack in plenty in a half day.

The guides are knowledgeable but a stop in Stellenbosch was to be included. Instead we only drove through town.

Had a wonderful afternoon – lovely wine tasting with a very chilled atmosphere. Vuyo was an excellent guide – so knowledgeable and friendly. Would really recommend!

Not value for money. The wine
Making process is not explained at all, no tour of vineyards, cellars, and the wine tasting rushed with limited time to ask questions. It’s fine if it was priced ZAR400. Better to take a private car and see other vineyards and the towns.

  13. Elaine_H

The description of the trip said walking tour of Stellenbosch. This was merely a drive through in between wine tasting !

  14. Kopano_M

The wine farms that we went to look stunning, however we didn’t get to see all wine farms and the last one we went to was rushed but paid full amount.

Our tour was confirmed by Viator. When I called the operator to confirm our pickup time he advised he had no record of our joining the tour. He called back later with a pickup time. The tour operator was one hour late picking us up. We were advised duing our drive that most of the wineries were closed for Sunday
And it was New Year’s day! We visited one small winery while the guide was trying desperately to determine who was open by telephone. We drove from winery to winery looking for one that was open and ended up in a wine bar! The town of Stellenbosh was virtually closed.
The tour should not have been run that day. All of the customers were taken advantage of. Viator should seek reimbursement from the operator to it’s customers for running a tour that could not be done as advertised on that day.

Tour guide leader was friendly & willing to answer questions. His delivery of information could have been more dynamic – voice was a bit too monotone. The scenery was beautiful. The wines tasted (9 different ones between 2 locations) were average but at first location we received cheese and crackers as well. We went to 2 wineries but the gap between the two was far too long – we lost a lot of the fun momentum we had built up after the first visit. The guide & driver were willing to drop us off at a more convenient location for us than the pick up spot so that was very much appreciated.

Manfred was an excellent guide – knowledgeable about the wines we were tasting and the area we visited. The wineries he chose were beautiful properties, but also gave us an opportunity to compare the wines of one to another. It was a delightful afternoon.

A fun tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the background to the development of the area and staff at the wineries certainly had some expertise in how the wines were produced and what to expect when tasting the different varieties. Also have to say this company was so helpful in assisting me when the timing of the initial booking fell over, extremely responsive and flexible in making changes that worked for me.

Adolphe showed up in a very nice van for our group of 4. The weather was terrible but it didn’t matter. The tour was awesome. He tied in a bunch of historical facts which led to his discussion about how the wineries started. We went to two wineries. The prices to ship to the US aren’t the best. If you can buy your supply at the beginning to enjoy throughout your trip would be most ideal. Definitely looking forward to returning.

Lovely grounds, knowledge and new experience! The cheeses, crackers were paired with wines. Both places were lovely to have traveled thru. Our driver was knowledgeable and pleasant!
