Carl was my guide for this wine tour. It worked out that it was just he and I all day, therefore he was more than willing to accommodate my needs and wants. Carl picked me up at my hotel, he was great company for our journey to the first wine tasting. We talked about all kinds of subject matter besides just wine. We visited 3 different wineries, all three were outstanding and well chosen by Carl based on my interest. i would recommend this tour and Carl as a guide to anyone who wants to explore and learn more about Germany’s wine production.

This tour was amazing! Carl was so friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and the area.
We went to 4 wineries and each one was better than the last. This is the wine trip you need to go on!

Carl was an amazing tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about wine and the region. He went out of his way to ensure that we not only went to wineries specializing in wines that I liked but also to make sure I got to try different varieties of German wine. His personal relationships with the people at each winery made the tour above and beyond in my mind. Would highly recommend this tour if looking for a well rounded, enjoyable day in the wine region!

We would absolutely recommend trusting a day of your vacation to Carl. He is very knowledgeable, personable and fun! He even adjusted the schedule to accommodate a visit to a winery that we were interested in. He took us to a mix of old and new wineries to make sure we experienced a variety of the offerings from the region. I feel so strongly about our positive experience, that I’m going back a month later to make sure my review posted.

Carl was an excellent host and guide. Very knowledgable and I tasted a very large number of wines at three different vineyards. Would highly recommend this tour
Keith_H –
The tour was tailored around our tastes. We came away feeling very educated on Riesling. We went places we would never have found on our own. Driving through the vineyards on bike trails was magnificent.
Jennifer_K –
Carl was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and personable. We learned so much about Rhine River Riesling wines while having a great time!

This was an awesome trip! Karl was a great guide and the Mosel area was beautiful! We learned a lot and tasted some wonderful wines! I can’t wait to return and tour another German wine region with Karl!!!

Carl was a wonderful tour guide, we met great friends, drank great wine and enjoyed the lovely countryside.

Carl picked us up from the hotel with a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us. We learned all about the wine region, wine varieties, the soil, etc. We drove around to 2 wineries & made a stop for lunch, where we were able to try several more local wines. For the wines we did purchase, he shipped them back the US for us (for an additional fee), which was great! Carl was a great guy, very funny, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone

Carl gave a fabulous tour. He knows the region and the wineries, you can tell he has real friendships with each winery which benefitted our experience. We tasted amazing wines in gorgeous locations. Just a fabulous time!

Carl was an AMAZING tour guide. Friendly, knowledgeable, and allowed me to book/confirm my tour literally a couple of hours before the scheduled tour. Thank you for accommodating my last minute plans.
Loved the 3 vineyards we toured. Riesling is such an under-appreciated wine (from an American perspective) and you’ll learn to love this (trokken-dry) varieties.
If you love wine and want to see the best of German winemaking, you MUST book this tour.
David_M –
Carl did a tremendous job of showing us numerous wines from the region, taught us a lot about wine, and was attentive to all in the group, made sure everyone had a great time. The ride was comfortable, pace was relaxed. Would definitely use Carl again for future trips, overall a great time and highly recommended.

Carl was an outstanding host. From the moment he picked us up – he was responsive to the needs of the group, clever and communicative and fun to be with. We had a delightful day and we highly recommend Carl and the winery trip.

Where do I begin?! I never leave reviews, but our time with Carl was second to none. I travelled solo to Germany for work, leaving me a weekend of time to fill. I expected to end up being a couple’s third wheel, but instead, two California coworkers in town for a conference were my tour buddies — and we had a BLAST. Carl was super friendly, wildly knowledgeable. Filled our cups upon pickup for the drive to our first winery, where I learned more about Rieslings than I could ever imagine (after spending some time exploring the vineyards overlooking the Rhine). We then caught the ferry over the Rhine to our next destination for plenty more tastings, finishing with a light bite (and a beer to cleanse the palate 😉 ). An absolute HIGHLIGHT of a trip — Carl also coordinates shipping back any wine purchases and can fill your box to optimize shipping costs with wine from his own online shop. Carl adapted stops based on our preferences on the fly as he learned more about us — I was just beyond impressed.
If you can make this work for your schedule — don’t hesitate. You’ll have an AMAZING day.

This was the best wine tour. We were picked up from our accomodation and presented with a glass of sparkling wine, before being taken to an excellent and eclectic mix of cutting edge and traditional wineries that produce top quality wines.
Carl is a generous and gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. I’d not hesitate to travel with Carl again if I was in the area.

Carl was a great host. Last minute reservations on my part lead to slight tour delays. Overall would do it again but i am still waiting for my wine I purchased to be shipped to me. As soon as i receive my purchased wine rating will go from 2 to 5 star.
Susan_N –
Awesome trip and our tour guy was the best and very knowledgeable of the area and wine and experience. Highly recommended

Carl picked us up at our hotel and was extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable about the wine regions, history, landscapes, and products in Germany. We toured some vineyards and tasted samples at wineries. We were joined by another lovely couple. It was a spectacular day of laughter, wine, and storytelling. Lunch was delightful outside on a patio surrounded by gardens. We learned a lot and enjoyed the day thoroughly. I would highly recommend Carl for any excursion.
