Description

Evening Desert Safari Dubai with Camel Riding and BBQ Buffet Dinner USD 20. Leave Dubai city and travel into the desert. Head off road into dunes and, with a trained driver at the helm, enjoy a dune bash. Carve up the dunes and hold tight as your 4WD slips back down.

After a sunset photo stop, try out sandboarding. Grab a supplied board and feel the thrill of surfing down high dunes. Then, continue to a Bedouin-inspired tented camp, where Arabic coffee and sweets await.

Duly refreshed, take your pick from the activities on offer: ride a camel, wear Arabic robes for souvenir photos, get a henna tattoo, or enjoy an optional water pipe shisha). Alternatively, up the pace by renting a dune buggy or quad bike additional cost to zoom over the sands.

Finally, enjoy a barbecue buffet and watch belly dancing, fire, and Whirling Dervish tanoura performances before your outing ends with a hotel drop-off..

The organizing agency was a mess: on the site, one meeting point in Dubai is DrOgon Mart, an electronic market close to my hotel, so I was happy… I could understand that no hotel pick-up was possible… Next, a mail from the agency list all meeting points, a DrAgon Mart was mentioned – another market, at 15 km distance… I tried to find out which one is valid, but confusing messages continued to come!? Finally, I decided to pick another meeting point, pretty far from my hotel, just to be sure. Then, we waited there more than 1 hour after the announced departing time – from OUR PAYED time! Pity for the event itself, was pretty well organized… The returning trip to Dubai City was the ultimate fiasco – 4-5 SUVs to transport 300 people!? We stayed in a line almost an hour…

Transportation was good. There was a wait time of around 30 minutes on both routes for late passengers. The dune bashing was fun. There is no sand surfing. There are only 2 broken boards. When you are inside you pay more to have a good seat and eat earlier. The optional shisha is only for 1 hour and is shared by numerous people. If you want one for yourself you pay extra. The shows were very nice. Try to get inside early to get a closer table. Food was abundant and served very fast.

The tour itself would have been great if not for several things that occurred before and during the activity. The driver was late, so he did not do the dune surfing the way other drivers have done for us in the past. He sped along the sand to drop us off as quickly as possible and get other people because he was late. They did not take us to the center of the desert for the photo shoot that was supposed to be done and was part of the package. Due to Ramadan (this was not their fault) they skipped over the belly dancing and the event was shorter than normal. Again, the latter was not their fault, but it was disappointing all the same.

The tour sounded really great but reality was much different. It was a constant attempt to sell more. The first stop was 30 minutes at a quad bike place where it cost to go for a few minutes ride. We then went for a very short 4th ride in some sand dunes before going to the adventure park The camel ride was for 1 minute, extra if you wanted a few minutes. The sand boarding was hopeless as there was no real slope. The tour guide dropped us at the camp with no information on what to do or where to go. Again there was another attempt to get more money. If we paid more we could eat now and have a proper seat. If not it was a two hour wait and sitting on the ground on a cushion. Then a long, long queue for what was advertised as a bbq but was a tiny plate of dry, greasy and totally cold fried food. There were 7 people in the group and no one ate anything. We asked to leave early as the children were hungry and the guide got angry and arranged for someone else to drive us back. This was a really disappointing tour, and not what any of the people on it was expecting!

😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐

The camel ride was very short and the sand boarding as well (since the dune was quite short for that and you couldn’t slide smoothly at all). And nobody was there to accompany, but a person there helped! People were really nice.
The show was amazing! And the dune bashing was nice, it was 12 minutes though.
    Overall nice for the money
