Sonya was awesome! We learned so much about the castle, things we would have never known if we had viewed the castle on our own. I highly recommend this tour!

Our guide Alan was fantastic. He took us through the history of the castle and also the city of Edinburgh. The tour itself covered all of the significant structures and history of the castle complex, then we were free to go through all of the museums contained within the castle grounds, including the crown jewels of Scotland

My husband and I really enjoyed our tour with Alain. His enthusiasm and presentation of the information was engaging and it brought the history of the castle to life. He did a great job of corralling everyone and making sure we could hear him.
I’m not in really great shape – for example I can do two flights of stairs but have to stop and rest before doing a third – and I was able to follow the group with no problem. I had been a bit worried about being able to keep up since the tour starts near the bottom of the Royal Mile and takes you all the way to the top of the castle – but Alain stopped and spoke regularly along the way so it was fine.
Well worth the cost.

We loved this tour! Fast-paced and kept the kids engaged; moved quickly. We were so fortunate to have Angus as our guide–very lively, very knowledgeable and very funny! Liked the balance between providing a lot of context and information vs. hitting the highlights.

Good tour to figure how which part of the castle you would like to explore further. Recommend getting there before the 1:00pm gun goes off.
