The trip starts with a pick up by bus from our accommodation by Willie. He was on time and was very courteous and friendly. He dropped us off at the train station and with our tickets, we all went to find our seats. The train was supposed to depart at 9.30am but did not leave the station until 9.45. The train trip takes two hours with lots of photo opportunities along the way. We had to be on the Skyrail by 1.30 so that gave us 1 hour 45 minutes to check out the village. It was rushed because we also bought admission to Birdworld. My suggestion is for the time at Kuranda is longer so that one has time to look at the stalls and shops. Willis was at Smithfield to pick us up and bring us back to our accommodation.

Bus driver was super friendly and informative. Great trip, we enjoyed the site seeing and the chance to hop off the train to see the gorge. Staff were all really friendly. We went to the butterfly and bird interactions. Also had time for a bite to eat before heading back on the sky rail.

The skyrail trip was wonderful. The views excellent and the stops to learn more about the rain forest were excellent.
I found the train trip itself disappointing. As a single traveller I found that as I wasn’t in a window seat it was very hard to access the views of the gorge. The stop offs were great though
