Great tour with lots to see – only downside is that the advertised tropical fruit, billy tea and damper was not provided. The guide did mention the BBQ lunch had been replaced due to Covid with a restaurant meal (which was nice!) – but no mention of these other meals (presumably they used to be offered as a morning / afternoon tea or something previously?) or why they were omitted.

The Billy Tea day 4WD tour explores the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation by a passionate tour guide Yannick showing his enthusiasm about the flora and fauna and the biodiversity of the region. Introducing you to a place so special, it holds not one but two UNESCO World Heritage areas. Where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef, Cape Tribulation is here for those looking to reconnect with nature.
The Daintree/Cape Tribulation region is home to over 3,000 plant species including trees, vines, palms, ferns, epiphytes, as well as the world’s largest and smallest tree ferns and cycads. Unknown plants and animal species are still being discovered.

The actual trip was amazing. Matt our Guide was fantastic. He is friendly, efficient at rounding us all up in a gentle manner and so knowledgeable! Even his jokes weren’t bad!!!!
However, the administration side of things left a little to be desired. When I booked online from the UK the message that came back was that you couldn’t pick up at our hotel, but would meet us at Macrossan House, Macrossan Street, Port Douglas which was only 8 minutes walk. No problem EXCEPT when we were waiting at Macrossan House in good time I opened the app to show my ticket, double checked in ‘pick up’ and found it said 43 Macrossan Street. We rushed up and down the road like mad people! Luckily, Matt found us! Then on the way home people were dropped off at hotels either side of ours on Davidson Street! Made no sense!
Anyway, to summarise I would definitely have given this trip a 5 star rating had the administration been sensible.
All that being said we had a really good day. Thank you Matt.
