Had a wonderful trip with LG. The temple was beautiful, seeing the monkeys was a very exciting experience and the blue tears and firefly’s were just as I’d hoped. LG was a fab guide and made the trip easy and memorable.

So we gave this review two stars because of the Monkeys and the temple, which were both very cool but seemed to be add-ons so that people don’t complain of the rest of the tour. The fire flies were scarce and nothing exciting. For a better description, you’re on a boat in the water in the pitch black, looking at the bushes on land to see the “twinkling lights” that are fireflies. They are not close to you and though you are told they are seen year round and the “longest firefly branch” in the world, it is nothing to be excited about. The blue tears was even worse! Looks NOTHING like the photos. You have a net that you have to swish around in the water to see the tiniest bit of light. They tell you before the tour you can see it year round and the water looks like a glowing blue, but it looks like nothing. When we told our guide after he blamed it on the water level and too much wind (there wasn’t any wind). The pictures are very deceiving and though this tour SOUNDS like it would be amazing, it’s not worth the amount of money you pay for it.

Our driver (Mr. Krishnan) picked my wife and I up and then poceeded to pick-up 3 other customers (this is *not* a private tour).
He drove us for about 1.5 hours, to a stunning temple near Bukit Rotan, then to a place where we could feed monkeys (the driver even had some extra food for us – ehich I believe was a “plus” from his part).
We then went to Kuala Selangor for our boat ride, where we could observe the fireflies (stunning! this is much better than I had expected) and the “blue tears”, i. e. the bioluminescent plancton, which was quite “out of the ordinary”.
I’d definitely recommend this tour. We did a lot of things in 3 days in KL but this was our favorite bit.

Great temple, loved the monkeys, very cute little orange babies, super friendly! The fireflies were pretty cool but not what I was expecting from the pictures online. Blue tears were very disappointing, from the advertisement the bioluminescent plankton lights up the water in an incredible blue glow. What we got were some blue sparkles in a fishing net. Still pretty cool if I had not been expecting what was shown in the pictures.

Great experience. Our driver Moni was very nice, took us to McDonalds in the way since the kids were not interested in the seafood dinner. Made sure we had good seats on the boat as well.

Die Bootstour an sich lief über ein anderes Unternehmen, wobei Tickets usw. durch den Guide organisiert wurden.

Tour guide LG was excellent at what he does. Pickup van was comfortable and safe. At the various stops along the way, he provided information on the locations that we could not have gotten had we just went ourselves. He also gave us a good recommendation for dinner before the boat ride, as we did not have time to eat dinner before we left (Thai restaurant with red roof – very good!). Living in a forested area where I see a large population of fireflies on a nightly basis in the summer, the fireflies portion of the trip was a little less than amazing for me. However it was till a nice boat ride on the river, and good opportunity to get out of the city and see some of the outlying areas. Now the blue tears portions was surreal! I have never seen anything like that before. Really cool.

Our guide did not give us much information abt the places. It was mostly being driven from one place to another.
We did enjoy interacting and feeding the monkeys tho.
Fireflys were disappointing we were expecting them to be bigger, brighter and closer.
They were all in bushes away from us.
