Log day, but worth it. Rob is an excellent guide. I would recommend this tour if you don’t have an opportunity to stay on the Amalfi Coast.

  3. Lela_M

This review is based on experience, not company I booked through. The day of my tour, that I have been looking forward to for a long time, turned out to be a rainy day and the boat could not go into Positano, due to weather, I was so disappointed, we were able to go to Almafi Coast but the boat ride was so rough there was people getting sick and unsafe getting on and off boat for anyone with mobility issues. You were told to run the platform to get on before next wave hit. Cost was expensive for just the one port.
Almafi was beautiful, but had I known prior, I would have booked for another day.

A long but wonderful trip. such a nice and beautiful coast. enjoy very much during the cruise and stops in Positano and Amalfi. Travel director has done a wonderful job to take care of the trip and make sure everyone are on schedule.

My husband and I had a fantastic time on this tour. It is a long day but it’s worth it especially if Rob and Vivianna are your guides and of course Giuseppe as the greatest driver. Rob had so much information for us and Judy the best personality to make a long day like this enjoyable. I would love to be on another tour with him. He made me more excited for Amalfi than I already was. It was so lovely having him guide us. We made a stop halfway to Salerno and the pistachio croissant I had was delicious. Once we got to Salerno we waited for the ferry. It’s a pretty chaotic line but Rob and Vivianna handled it. Seeing the coast from the ferry was beautiful. Positano is something to see, but never somewhere I want to stay. We did eat there and had a delicious spaghetti with clams. All the limoncello we drank was also very fresh. Amalfi was what we were looking forward to. It truly was what I wanted. The margarita pizza and limoncello spritz I got just as it was described and better. We had a wonderful day and the weather held up the whole time. Very good way to see all these areas if you’re up for the trip.

Marisa was excellent. It poured the entire day but somehow she still made us have an excellent tour. We learned so much and saw sites so beautiful you have to pick your jaw off the ground. Thanks for a magical day, Marisa!!

Seeing this beautiful part of Italy was well worth the long travel to and from Rome. Amalfi was by far our favorite compared to Positano, but both are spectacular! Our tour guide, Rob, made the trip for us! He was super friendly, provided great information and tips and really made the experience that much better!!!

  8. Alison_R

Enjoyable experience and Angela our tour guide was upbeat, personable and knowledgable. We have been on 3 tours whilst on our short break in Rome and this was by far the best. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was simply the length of travel on the bus. The boat trip was part of the experience as there were some fantastic views. I will be recommending to my friends who will be visiting Italy in June and July.

So they cancelled our whole trip just
Because the tour guide was sick and they don’t have any alternative!!!!! What kind of idiotic unprofessional behaviour from Viator ???? Don’t you have an alternative for the same, people travelling overseas booking in advance paying so heavy and what they get in return is a “Sorry our tour guide got sick so we have to cancel the whole trip “ !!! And all those hundreds of passengers are clueless who travelled miles across their country to Italy to visit places. Our trip got cancelled to Amalfi coast and positano on 30th May 2024 just because the tour guide got sick so they didn’t even took us in the book and Canceled the whole trip just like that!! So so so unprofessional people we had the WORST experience and even worse was the guy (I guess his name is Leonardo sort of) is clueless and says he can’t help and NO efforts from his side to even try to solve the issue and help for any alternative.
Don’t ever BOOK from VIATOR they are the most unprofessional people on Internet. We traveled from India just to see our day trip got cancelled due to stupid reason and no action was taken for it and all the tourists including us were left to go back home just like that!!
NEGATIVE pathetic Rating for VIATOR !!!!

So worth a trip, truly enjoyed it. Angela was very knowledgeable and accomodating, she made sure everyone had fun. Even after the tour, she gave us informations on where to get our ride to get back to our respective hotels which was very helpful. I will definitely go back and will bring my husband this time.

  11. Mari_J

The tour was canceled in the morning.
All people was at the meeting point and the one man came and say bad news, your trip is cancaled, because the guide is sick.
Nothing was possible! It was big disapointing. One other guide Claire oraganise us on other trip, has taken as with your group to Positano and Pompeii. Thank you Claire!!!!
But our trip to Amalfi was canceled😡

  12. Juanita_S

Barbara was our tour guide and she was amazing, giving us an impressive amount of historical information and tips about where to eat and shop in Rome and at the Amalfi Coast. Very lucky to have her with us in this tour. Thank you!!!

  14. Dumitru_T

It was a disappointing experience. Too much time wasted between the naval transportation which cut the time scheduled to enjoy Positano and Amalfi. The tour guide was nice but inexperienced, did not give to much information about the major places to visit in the two locations and during the transportation on the boats due to the use of public transportation. It is not a private tour as is claimed. I would not recommend this tour.

  15. Sam_S

Wildly disorganized. Tour guide gave us 1 hour in Positano and not even 30 min in Amalfi, and we had to beg for that. We left late and ended up there really late. It’s not a coastal cruise, it’s a public ferry and you have to wait in line with the rest of the public. We had no time to do more than eat a sandwich and buy some limoncello because they straight up just didn’t give us the tasting. We would have been better of to simply get there on our own. Tour was a mess and no one was happy with it.

  16. Ann_B

The views were beautiful and our tour guide and bus driver did the best they could. The problem was the long bus ride from Rome, public ferry that herded us like cattle and over filled the boat so people didn’t have seats, and the lack of time in Positano and Amalfi. Also, good luck finding bathrooms!

  17. Margarida_V

This tour was terribly organized as we were suppose to have two hours feee time in Positano and 2 in Amalfi as well as limoncello tasting. None of this happened. We were given one hour in Positano and 15 minutes in Amalfi. No limoncello tasting. Guide was rude, insulting and lost two members of the group. Waste of money and time. Total disappointment and a stressful day. We will not recommend this tour or tour company again

  18. Shari_B

Do not book!! From the beginning the tour was unorganized. We boarded the bus to Salerno and the first hour was ok and I am determined that this is a ploy they use. After an hour they said they ran into traffic so what should have been a 3 hour journey turned into 6 hours. Then we had to wait for the ferry to the Amalfi Coast, this took an additional hour. When we get to the Amalfi coast the operator states we have 8 MINUTES TO LOOK AROUND. I had to rush to get my son pizza. We had back to the ferry and it cancelled on us so we have to wait an additional hour for a boat. The whole time nothing is mentioned about limencello tasting which means they know it’s never gonna happen. We get to Positano an hour later thinking we would have 2 hours, nope we have 40 minutes. Started the day at 7am and we arrived back to Piazza Del Popolo at 11:30 pm. DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR, FRAUDULENT.

  19. Daniel_C

Tour guide, Mauro, was rude and did not provide any explanations of the sites. Gave very poor instructions and made us wait for an hour under the hot sun while waiting for a ferry. One of the group fainted and guide didn’t care.
Timing was atrocious: we assembled at Piazza del Popolo at 7.20 am, and only got to the first destination (Positano) at 1.30pm. Most of the long tiring day already gone before we started touring. Had 1hr30 mins to eat lunch and explore the town. Waited for over an hour for the ferry to Amalfi. We got to Amalfi just before 5pm and were told we had to reassemble at 5.20pm to take the ferry back to Salerno. Thus we had only 20 minutes (!) to explore the town. This was unbelievable. Everyone on the tour was upset. Limoncello tasting was cancelled as a result.
The tour is advertised as a “cruise” but actually you are just taking a public ferry. Highly misleading and as a result we wasted a lot of time waiting for overcrowded ferries.
We got back to Rome at 10.30 pm completely exhausted and having done very little actual site seeing. Without any doubt the worst tour that I have ever taken. This is a scam.

  20. Alina_A

I didn’t enjoy this tour at all., starting with the guide. Everything was late in this tour. We went to Positano furst, and the time there was only to eat. After thet, there was no time to see the island. Then we went Amalfi, and the time to see the island was 20 minutes. The tour guide left the group several time, under the sun, to look for other people in the group, instead of giving instruction to the ones that were with him puntual. In addition, the tour guide was screaming all the time, telling the people to quiet. I don’t recommend this tour, or at least with this tour guide (Mauro). Final thing, we stopped in a place to go to the bathroom and eat lunch, and the place is not what you expecteting when you’re on a tour, and by the way, the tour said that thete was a limoncello tasting included, and I never seen it. No way, that was awful, bad tour experience.

Great trip! Our guide Angela was amazing. Her indepth knowledge of history, art, culture and food was outstanding. She was happy, personable and always willing to help whenever and wherever she could.
The port in Positano was under construction so It took about 15 mins longer then expected to dock but Angela warned us this was happening so we weren’t sitting around wondering why.
The beautiful views in the Amalfi coast are worth this trip.
The bus ride is 3hrs but doesn’t seem that long with a stop halfway for coffee and food. Plus, Angela took this time to enrich us with plenty of cultual knowledge and fun stories.
The boat trip to the islands takes about 40mins giving you time to take pictures of the breathtaking views along the way.
    Would recommend this tour
