A 2 week t rain trip around Portugal. Here’s a suggested itinerary to help you plan your holiday.
Day 1-3: Lisbon
Start your trip in Lisbon, Portugal’s charming capital city. Spend a few days exploring its historic neighborhoods, such as Alfama, Bairro Alto, and Chiado. Be sure to visit some of Lisbon’s famous landmarks, including the Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, and the Castle of Sao Jorge.

Day 4-5: Sintra
Take a day trip to Sintra, a picturesque town just a short train ride from Lisbon. Visit the colorful Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, and the whimsical Quinta da Regaleira.

Day 6-7: Coimbra
Take the train north to Coimbra, a historic university town with a beautiful old town area. Be sure to visit the Biblioteca Joanina, one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, and the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha.

Day 8-9: Porto
Next, head to Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city and the birthplace of port wine. Take a boat tour on the Douro River, stroll across the iconic Dom Luis Bridge, and visit some of the city’s many port wine cellars.

Day 10-11: Aveiro
From Porto, take the train to Aveiro, a charming coastal town known as the “Venice of Portugal” for its network of canals. Take a boat tour, visit the Art Nouveau Museum, and try some of the town’s famous ovos moles sweet egg pastries).

Day 12-13: Faro
Head south to the Algarve region and visit the city of Faro, a charming old town with a medieval wall and a beautiful cathedral. Take a boat tour of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, where you can see flamingos and other wildlife.

Day 14-15: Lagos
End your trip in Lagos, a picturesque town on the western Algarve coast. Visit the Ponta da Piedade rock formations, relax on some of the beautiful beaches, and enjoy the town’s lively nightlife.
