This tour was truly extraordinary. In addition to the a LOT of excellent food, we also learned a lot about Chinese culture and the history of Chinese people in British Columbia. This tour is a passion project for Bob, the tour guide, as a way to educate the world about Chinese culture and history. Asking the way we heard stories, ate some wonderful food, and just generally had a great time. THANK YOU!

Bob has deep knowledge of Chinatown and food history and this tour satisfies on a number of levels. The food is plentiful and delicious. It was a great way to start our visit to Vancouver. The tour took 4 hours with 3 hours of that on your feet. Definitely recommend this as an experience! Plus, Bob offers himself as a resource while your are here in Vancouver.

Bob was engaging, accommodating and very interactive. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Chinese: history, culture, community, traditions and of course food. The tour was not exhausting or exhaustive leaving you wanting to learn more when we finished right on time. I would love to attend a “part 2”. Thank you Bob!

Our Guide was very knowledgeable at the gardens. But he seem to be a little bit lackluster for the rest of the tour.

We had such an enjoyable, informative and delicious day with Bob. We had great tour mates and Bob encouraged conversation. Would highly recommend this tour of Chinatown to learn about history, culture and foods that we wouldn’t have even known about if not for Bob.

Learning about the rich and sometimes sad history of the Chinese people arriving in Vancouver was eye opening. We enjoyed the markets, the medicine shop and of course the food. Our guide Bob was extremely knowledgeable and clearly loves his job. Highly recommend the tour!

We very much enjoyed this tour. We learned so much about the Chinese immigration experience both in Vancouver and the western part of North America. Bob was an amazing tour guide- enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was amazing too. Lastly it was a great value.

The Botanical Gardens were beautiful and the information Bob imparted was very helpful in understanding a slice of Chinese culture.
The CultureStory center was also amazing in the explanation of the Chinese in Canada.
Bob does a great job in making these stories personal and up to date.

This tour was amazing from the beginning to the end. We learned so much history of the Chinese people coming to Vancouver. The hardships they endured and how Canada treated them. They are resilient people!
The food was wonderful. Tea making workshop, apple dumplings, BBQ pork and a full lunch with traditional Chinese food. You don’t have to eat the rest of the day.
Bob was a great leader- full of knowledge

When I travel, one of my favorite things to do is try local cuisine, so this tour was right up my alley. Because I signed up for this tour to try the food in Vancouver’s Chinatown, it was surprising to me that my favorite part of the tour was the fact that is was so well-rounded! I learned so much about food AND the history of Chinese Canadians through the several snack and museum-style stops. Plus, Bob was such a wealth of knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

the chef/guide was excellent with a thorough command of chinese culture in vancouver and led us skillfully through chinatown, commenting we went. a great tour, would recommend to anyone interested in the historical/current events in that area of vancouver.

Bob was an excellent tour guide; so knowledgeable and attentive to everyone in our group. Also, we had generous food samples in addition to a delicious dim sum lunch. The Chinese Garden was beautiful, and it was even better when Bob explained the significance of the architecture. I know we would not have appreciated its value had we had to toured it on our own. Also, we toured the new Chinese Canadian Museum for a little bit. It was so interesting that we went back after our tour and spent some time learning about the Chinese Exclusion Act. We had a fun at the same time learned a lot while on vacation! I highly recommend this tour!
