Sushi making was fun. We learned how to present nigiri and sushi roll. I wish there was more time to explore the market.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Navigating the market on your own would be a real challenge. Kei, our tour guide, took us to a variety of stalls to they the full experience of what was there. It was unexpected that we would be getting samples and the opportunity to try some different things, of which you did pay for. I would highly recommend this tour so you get a real flavor of this extensive market. We even bought a Japanese knife at one of the stalls.

Our guide, Ume, showed us highlights of Tsujiki Fish Market. So much to see and miss if you don’t know what’s good or how to ask to try products. After a thorough tour of the market, we traveled to a sushi restaurant to learn the basics of nigiri and maki sushi making. Simple steps broken down and prepared for success made the class fun, tasty, and left you wanting to try again at home.

This was such a fun tour, it was our second day in Tokyo and we went to meet Kei and the other group members. We then headed off to the fish market and its such an expansive place. We got to try different items and learned all about how to prepare the dishes and what spices they use. We then took a short train ride to a really cool restaurant where we made our own Sushi with a Sushi chef. We then ate our masterpieces. This is a great tour for anyone to enjoy

I learned so much and have grown such a deeper appreciation for sushi after this class. The instructor was filled with so much knowledge, the food was sooo good and I overall had the best time ever!

Fun touring and tasting through the fish market. Great to try some things we would never have tried on our own. The sushi class is very basic, but was fun and delicious.

Good tour of the outer market, very much enjoyed the sushi making class. Dress cool & bring a hat, it’s sweltering hot.

We enjoyed the tour and sushi making! Our guide Kei was very knowledgeable about foods, spoke perfect English, and planned the walk with our needs in mind (had an ATM stop and a bathroom stop build into the walk).
Chef from Yachyo sushi was a kind and patient teacher. And the company accommodated my son’s allergies quite nicely and seamlessly – much appreciated!
    Thank you!

I have mixed feeling here. On one side, I had fun and enjoyed the experience. The tour helped point out things in the market I would have missed. The lunch was plentiful and delicious.
However, we didn’t actually learn how to make sushi. We learned how to put together a bunch of already prepared ingredients and roll them together. Not the same! I thought we would learn how to make the rice, how to choose the right kinds of fish, how to cut/prepare the fish… we didn’t do any of that!
So it was fun but I’m no more equipped to make sushi at home than I was before.

Naoko was very friendly and nice to show us around the fish market and the sushi making class was nice too! I would love to see if the trip organizer can combine the tuna auction with the fish market visit plus the sushi making experience. Sushi making class was easy and good for kids too!

Our guide Kei was amazing and shared many insights and stories during the tour. Our sushi chef was also amazing. This was one of our favorite adventures during our trip to Japan.

The guide and the sushi master were both very friendly, and the tour was very informative. This is a great way to learn how to make sushi in a fun environment, and it will give your feet a chance to rest.

I was LIED to. Two days before the tour, I called the tour operator, from my cruise ship. They told me if I got off the ship as scheduled I could take a cab and easily make the meeting place by 8:30AM. If I missed them I could join them later, at a location they were yet to identify. The next day, I received an email saying I could not make it and I should call and they would tell me where to go, which they still did not know where that would be. The difference, the first contact day was still eligible for a full refund, the second was not. So they wanted me to call them once I got off the cruise ship, get a cab in a country with a language barrier, in one of the largest cities in the world, and go to a place they did not yet know hours before the tour started, to make sushi? They said I get no refund, not even a credit. I am not going to deal with dishonest people. Viator shoud remove them from their tour offerings, they aren’t fair, and cannot be trusted.

The tour of the market itself was interesting and our guide very friendly. The pace was a bit too fast for some in our group. As for the sushi making portion I learned the process but the practice was limited to four pieces of nigiri and one tekka roll. For the price I was expecting a lot more.

Kumi was wonderful. She shepherded 6 of us around Tsukiji and to our sushi making class very well. She had a great sense of humor in addition to being very knowledgeable about where we were going and what we were doing. Our family thought the sushi making class would be hokey, but the Chef was very good, very funny and made us all feel like competent chefs (even though we were not). Great tour. Don’t hesitate.

Great walking tour of local Buddist temple and its history, then onto the Tsukiji Fish Market. We would have liked more time there. There was So much to see. She was patient with us but we felt a bit rushed. The sushi making class was fabulous and delicious. Very basic but new to us. We would have loved to buy some of the ingredients in the market for our sushi. Beautiful tiny restaurant after a subway ride. Memorable morning!

Fish market name suggests ALL FISH. But this was also fruits and nuts etc. If the smell of fish turns you off, NO WORRIES, as it’s not all fish.

We had an incredible time on Yuriko’s Tsukiji fish market tour! Her expertise, friendly demeanor, and in-depth knowledge of local history and culture made the experience unforgettable. We sampled delicious street food and our sushi-making session was a highlight. Highly recommend this tour with Yuriko – she’s the best! Thank you!

Kei was a great tour guide and we had a wonderful time on this tour of the fish market and sushi making experience! The rain aside, Kei did a great job walking us through the fish market and made lots of stops for us to sample the food there. The sushi morning class was so much fun, and the sushi was excellent! Great fun and highly recommended.
