The Hop-On-Hop-Off tour of Toronto was a perfect way to see the major sites of downtown Toronto and get a feel for the city and the many things it has to offer. The flexibility of being able to board the bus for a full 24 hours from first boarding the bus was a real plus, as there is so much to see, and so many wonderful places to explore within a large area. The signs designating where the tour picks up and drops off are very helpful. The boat ride around the nearby islands was very enjoyable as well and the flexibility of not being required to take the boat ride within the same time frame as the Hop-On-Hop-Off tour was also very beneficial.

The Hop On was very interesting (and I actually live in Toronto(!), well the burbs.) Many stops, frequent buses coming by any stop, great comentary. Great value–loved the cruise–saw behind the scences, different from when I would just be going across with the ferry–14 island. I thought we had 4!! The only hiccup–we were told you could walk through the gardens of Casa Loma, without paying to go inside. We could not !! I mentioned the mis-communication to reception inside; and she said she would follow it up; but you guys should clear that with them and then make sure your tourist info. is correct. I made it work, I just went on, and enjoyed the Philosophers’ Walk behind the ROM.

This was a nice way to familiarize oneself with the city. Overall, I have no regrets with paying for this experience. It is worth noting though that the guide makes a big difference. While taking advantage of the 24 hour limit on our tickets, we toured on two different buses on two different days. The guide on the first day appeared to be simply regurgitating facts she had memorized. The guide on the second day was much more interesting and projected excitement about sharing a wealth of information she had about the sites in the city. I wish I remembered her name so that I could give her personal kudos for being interesting and making us excited about doing more siteseeing in Toronto.
