What a great tour! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the history, background, and details of the art. I feel very lucky to have experienced this tour.

The Borghese Gallery was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Our tour guide Matteo was incredibly knowledgeable while at the same time making the day fun. After the tour we spent several more hours in the gardens. A perfect day!

Our guide was excellent. She was personable, likable and caring. She displayed a passion for the sculpture and art works and provided remarkable history and details of the sculptures and paintings. She connected with us in a personal and kind manner and answered questions whenever they were asked. She did not rush us and the entire experience was enjoyable and remarkable.

The tour was wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Excellent sculptures and paintings. Our guide gave us the history of the artists and collector.

Agnese, our guide, was simply GREAT! So much enthusiasm, so much PASSION is not easy to find. Of course, the level of her knowledge cannot be compared. Otherwise, the tour was not clearly organised, difficult to meet their rep with the orange flag ( shadow was too promising… ) a.s.o. So, ask for Agnese and go to the tour!

Excellent guide who helped bring the Borghese Gallery to life. Great value and wonderful time! Highly recommended to all.

The building is a beautiful structure with extravagant decoration inside on the walls and ceiling. The best thing about this tour was the guide, Martin, who explained the art work and sculpture with so much knowledge and passion that you wanted to learn even more about each piece and the artist that created the work whether it be sculpture or painting. His passion was infectious and the tour ended too quickly! This tour was the best activity that we attended in the three days that we spent in Rome.

The place is chock-full of worthwhile art; you could really spend a lot more time than they give you. That was actually the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5–the guide explained that we’re only given so much time inside. Would have been 5 stars if, after his tour, we were allowed to stay and wander on our own…but that’s not the guide’s fault.
Given the limited time, he was very smart to begin by asking us if we’d been there before. Since none of us had, he tailored the tour to us newbies, focusing on the biggest highlights; had we been more experienced, he clearly had the ability to show us different things.

It is an amazing museum with great art collections, must see. You have to go early or stay after to visit garden, although private gardens are not allowed for visitors. Our guide was excellent, unfortunately I didn’t get her name well

We had an incredible tour guide who was so inspirational and knowledgeable. His name is Matias. The collection is exquisite in a lovely setting.

Arrived on time. Tour was cancelled because the operator was sick. Such is life. Got the tickets though and the museum is breathtaking.

We booked the tour since February. The tour guy called in sick and the company can’t find a replacement. We were given tickets to go in to the museum. What a disappointment. I am waiting on a full refund.

Great tour. Amazing gallery. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and really made the art come to life.

  14. James_H

The museum is stunning. Our guide, Federico, could not have been better. He spoke of each piece and highlighted the technique of each artist/sculptor while weaving a coherent story/timeline. As a result, our group (consisting of non-art history majors) was able to understand the historical significance and gain a deeper appreciation of the collection.

I chose this tour for our family of 5 (3 teenage daughters.) The Borghese Gallery was fantastic & the gardens & park were lovely! Our guide was excellent! I think her name was Sofie. She was very passionate & enthusiastic. Our tour was a group of 15, but I felt like she was speaking directly to me as she was very engaging with all of us. She told us so much history of the gallery & the family, & brought the artists & art to life with her explanations & stories. The tour lasted around 3 hours, & at the end we had the option to stay longer in the gallery or wander the gardens. We enjoyed the tour & our guide very much! I would highly recommend it.

Tour guide Giulia was AMAZING. Very knowledgeable and very passionate, she made the museum and it’s art collection come to life. Loved her enthusiasm towards both the artist and the sculptures and paintings. Cannot say enough great things. Museum collection was gorgeous and a manageable size so we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Tour guide was awesome so very informative… knowledgeable and interesting . She brought her storytelling to bring everything alive

  18. Annemarie_P

Our small tour group included skip the line Galleria Borghese was fabulous! Our tour guide Matteo was spot on and extremely knowledgeable about art & history woven into stories about Caravaggio & Michelangelo. We would recommend it to anyone who loves art!

Favorite experience in Rome. Forget the Vatican Museum. It’s a zoo. Tooooooo crowded. Numbers are controlled at the Borghese and the art particularly Bernini’s work is fantastic as is the Villa itself. As a plus the park surrounding it is lovely so bring a panino and relax there

Our guide didn’t show up due to illness. The local company could not send a replacement and told us that we had to see the museum on our own and that Viator would give us a refund. They informed us that Viator already knew about the illness and we would not have any hassle in getting out money back. It’s been 2 days and Viator still has not refunded our money. They asked us for proof and we sent them the Whatapp message from the local provider confirming the tour was not happening at the allotted time. They offered to merge us with a later group, but we had already left. Besides we paid extra to be in a small group.
