When I booked I requested to visit DMZ
I was of the opinion that this was a private tour with private car
It is a walking tour….using public transportation
They told me to contact Melissa to set up
The DMZ
I talked to Melissa day before
Try to cancel
Cancellation charge was 225$ no refund
I tried to contact visitor but had no luck
So I agreed to take the bus and train( which I paid for )
To imjingak park with Melissa as a guide
Park only. No DMZ
So the trip to the park cost me 225$ plus transportation charges
DMZ tour is $65
Melissa was great it was not her fault

Sujeong led a wonderful tour through the highlights of Seoul. She knew heaps about each of the sites we went to and shared interesting facts for the entire four hours (no mean feat!). She even gave super helpful directions for me to catch my connecting train the day after. Really great tour, highly recommend.

Review for Melissa (please edit as appropriate), My husband had a great tour with his guide Melissa. He wanted to see the ‘less touristy’ areas of Seoul. Melissa suggested they start at Haneul Park to see the pink muley plant blooms. It was a short hike up 291 steps to the top of the hill which then allowed a 360 degree view of the Mapo area and the Han River. Lunch was at the Mapo Marine Products Market where you selected the fresh seafood at the market vendors and then brought it upstairs to the restaurant where they prepared it for you to order. Absolutely delicious local scallops, clams, and abalone! A short bus ride to Ewha Woman’s University to see the picturesque campus including it’s signature architecture pathway with ‘underground’ buildings on either side. Melissa was very, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the local area. He would highly recommend her to be your next tour guide while in Seoul.

It was for a quick market survey in S Korea to check out coffee & tea boutiques but I got out more than expected at such a limited amount of time (quick layover tour of 4-6 hrs). I started out late because I ended up getting lost, so we prioritized to only 1 of each boutique only + lunch. We managed to see an awesome palace, great neighborhoods with charming bustling alleys. I got to see how the locals live day-to-day, their local favs, and characteristics that makes S Korea simply beautiful. I fell in love w/ S Korea.
This was possible because my guide Yujin really listened to my priorities, my goals, and my likes. She even pre-visited the boutiques I initially listed to ensure that it was within the scope of my requirement.
The only room for improvement is to provide ‘instructions’ on where to initially meet and not just a location – that even info desk is unsure how to direct someone who is foreign and unfamiliar w/ the language and region. Otherwise, it would have been literally perfect.

Oki is a great resource, a storyteller and facts loaded. She knows Seoul like a native and has opinions and a huge respect for the korean ways. It was great immersion and I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to her on my next visit to Seoul.

Viator took the payment. then sent 1 generic email to acknowledge receipt and after that, no communication. There were no emails as to where to meet the day before the tour. That afternoon and night, emailed multiple times to Viator, and to CIty Unscripted , even calling both US and UK numbers by phone (from Seoul) and NO RESPONSE. . On the day of the tour, I was able to look into fine print that the meeting was at a Starbucks, took a taxi there and there was no tour guide.. We waited there for close to 1 hour. 2 hours later, City Unscripted sent email through Viator apologized that they could not a find tour guide to do the tour. Too late, as we spent the whole morning doing nothing but waiting for them and also paid for the taxi to get to the “meeting spot” and not to mention, we did not know what to do/where to go as it was too late to book any tours that day. They gave us a refund but this is still not acceptable customer service… What a disappointment

I was lucky to be paired with Thomas for my first ever visit to Seoul. Before my arrival, we exchanged info about my areas of interest. Thomas put together a wonderful itinerary where I was able to see everything in my wishlist.
The great thing about this private tour is the ability to spend as much or as little time as possible on a particular attraction. Also, Thomas will take you to other interesting places you wouldn’t know about, in addition to a special traditional Korean lunch (chicken ginseng soup) in a very local place.
Thomas is also your personal photographer so you will have high quality photos of all the places you visit. I highly recommend him and this tour. Thank you!

My guide was Sujeong and I enjoyed the tour very much. She prepared the tour based on feedback to her questions in the planning stage. The tour was 100% customized. We saw so much of the city using buses and walking that I would have never been able to navigate myself. She shared history and amusing points along the way.
