Robert, our tour guide, for this tour is very knowledgeable on the history of Melbourne building. He is very friendly and engaging. The Phillip island penguin experience is really good, surprised that penguins will go back to the island after its hunt daily. Brighton beach is beautiful, worth a visit.

We had so much fun on this tour! Got to feed kangaroos and wallabies, and of course the adorable penguin parade! Brighton Beach Boxes were also really neat. Bill was a great guide, super knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Beach huts were fun but busy! Animal sanctuary had all the iconic creatures you expect in Australia. Beautiful boardwalk on the cliffs with breathtaking views and loved the wild wallabies. Strangely, the penguins coming ashore was a little anticlimactic but seeing and hearing them close by the boardwalk made up for this. Very full day, back late but very satisfied.

Jon is our guide is knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories and tidbits to keep the group engaged. He put in suggestions to us so that we can able to have the best experience possible. There were some hiccups like closing of restaurants which we supposed to have dinners but it is no fault of them. But still, my and my wife enjoyed especially seeing the penguin parade which is the highlight of the trip.

This was a wonderful way to see Australian wildlife. Our guide, Mark was a lot of fun and made sure we all had a wonderful experience. However, the night we went there were very few penguins and it was too dark to spot the birds. The cold and the rain didn’t help much. We could have been taken outside a little later to avoid the long wait.

We left Melbourne later than usual because we had to pick up someone that was late for their pick-up with another van. Since we were the first to be picked-up, that meant more than an hour going around. The Brighton Beach stop was lovely and the amount of time there was appropriate. We saw a lot of wildlife throughout the island which was absolutely a highlight. The only thing that was disappointing was the seals. They are mentioned in the tour (not sure how it is written) but you do not actually see them or have the tools to do so. You see the rocks in the distance but it’s too far away to see the animals. I would recommend being more specific about this topic in the activities description to avoid letdown. Also, a good suggestion to the visitor center would be installing one of those fixed binoculars with zoom to try to see the seals (even if it was paid). The penguin parade was just lovely and super cute, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Yoni was a great guide and you could tell they were very passionate about Australian wildlife and the environment. We learned not just from experienced but from just listening to the cool facts from the guide! Thanks to our guide, we were able to get even closer to the little penguins and Yoni was able to show us all the tricks on how the penguins get home and their paths. Make sure to listen to them to get the best viewing experience 😉 One thing that is not of the fault of the tours is to remember to bring extra clothes if it’s raining! It’s very easy to get soaking wet and shivering on the way home. Either than that, it was a wonderful experience for both my partner and I.

We enjoyed every minutes of the tour though there was quite a bit of rains on the Philips Island. Our guide Joni is very friendly and knowlegeable, love the fun facts and knowledge of sea birds shared by our guide. Look forward to join another Go West tour in near future.
