    Watching sea planes
It was a great day, would have liked to see the art museum area, a little less time on Granville island

Michael was the best Vancouver guide! He picked us up at our hotel in his lovely Mercedes Sprinter van and we toured for 6 hours including lunch at a lovely spot by the water. He is very knowledgeable and has many stories to tell. The day was enjoyable as we spent time in Stanley Park, downtown, Olympic village, Granville Island, Gastown and many other local neighborhoods. We learned so much about Vancouver’s history and enjoyed every minute with Michael!!

This being our first visit to Vancouver, for the first day of our week long stay, we chose this tour in order to get an overall impression of the city. What a great choice it was. Our guide was Michael and his knowledge of and passion for Vancouver was excellent. His friendliness and easy going character made it an unforgettable day for us. Highly recommended.

Great tour, very informative and Mike was outstanding ! We saw parts of Vancouver that aren’t usually covered as well as the regular highlights.

Everything even the weather was great. Covered so much of the city and paced perfectly. Michael is a very knowledgeable guide full of great facts and delivered with a good sense of humour.

Michael gave us most of Vancouver in 6 hours! It was incredible. We ate, walked, saw amazing sites, and learned a lot. I’d take a similar trip with him without a doubt! Thanks so much Michael!

Micheal is a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable about the city. Although this tour is slated for 5 hours, he went above and beyond and extended the tour at no charge to ensure we didn’t feel rushed and we take our time to explore Vancouver. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to soak it all in within a day.

Especially enjoyed Granville Island, but everything we saw was so interesting. The guide bent over backwards to accommodate us since our flight was delayed arriving in Vancouver and he allowed us to join the tour a couple hours after it began.

Both the guide – Mickel and the beautiful City of Vancouver. The guide was punctual, knowledgeable and a good driver.

We enjoyed learning the many details about the city and seeing Stanley Park; visiting Grandville market (loved that one!) and the ice cream stop!! I was very entertaining and enjoyable. The good weather helped!

This small group tour with Lawrence Tours was fantastic. The van was clean and comfortable and we saw all the sites with great commentary. Mike is a long-time local who really knows a lot about the city. Just the right mix of time inside and outside the van. Highly recommend if you want some true local color.

So wonderful! Very comprehensive city tour, lots of great facts & history. La Casa was amazing, such a neat place. All the little stops were wonderful. I was only in Vancouver for a stop over & really felt like I SAW the city. I will be back for a more in depth trip.

The grand city tour with Lawrence Tours was worth every penny. Mike showed the group of us many sites most tours never mention and in every case provided insight that only a well-versed local could. A wealth of Vancouver knowledge. Mike goes above and beyond. We couldn’t recommend him and his operation more highly. The photo depicts one of many of the stops most other tours miss and Mike being one of the gang rather than merely a paid guide.

Guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Obvious that he loves and takes pride in his city. Very much enjoyed it.

This was a great broad brush of so many of Vancouver’s neighborhoods and highlights. We had a nice complete tour of Stanley Park. Our driver was very knowledgeable about flora and fauna and the history of the area. Commentary was complete and welcome. Lots of ability to ask questions, get clarifications and understanding of the area, history and culture, including Indigenous peoples and their history here. Arts of the area were also pointed out. The group made a group decision of eating at which ethnic area we wanted. Asian won out and a Thai restaurant was the perfect choice as they accommodated our group with prompt, wonderfully service and food. Granville Island was a good walk around. Wished we had had chance here to have a little personal time to shop/eat, etc.

Overall, the tour was OK—you definitely get to see the city and learn some interesting facts. My issues with the tour were more about the nuances of the tour. For one, a good tour guide will get to know the people on the tour a little and then kind of gear the tour towards that group. This tour gears the tour around the guide, and honestly I am not even sure he knew (or asked) anyone on the tour about themselves, even where they were from. Instead we learned all about him, his wife, his life, etc. After two hours on the tour I asked to run to the bathroom at the Totem Poles and was met with annoyance. What? Instead of taking the group to the Market for lunch and shopping, we were forced to choose between his three choices of restaurants (obviously he gets a kick back) and then when we got to the market we had NO FREE TIME TO SHOP! Why not give people 90 minutes in the Market to shop and eat instead of taking them to a random restaurant? We were escorted to three random stores in the market (again, obvious kick-back situation), but we were basically walked through the market with absolutely no opportunity to enter any stores. It just didn’t make sense. Much of the info given on the tour is not accurate, so you will want to verify before you repeat. No, Queen Victoria did not visit Vancouver in 1905. Also, I was a little turned off by Michael’s comments about the Vietnamese “girls” who give good massages at a parlor he passed, and he seemed to be rather annoyed with larger people, even asking my husband if I could handle walking three blocks. What?! I’m 200 pounds, not an ideal weight for sure, but I can walk miles! It was just so clueless, but that goes back to my original observation that this tour didn’t focus on the participants, but instead on the host. I am not saying Michael wasn’t nice—he was—but I have taken a lot of tours on my travels, and this one was not one of my favorites.

I was lucky to have a private tour of Vancouver! Mike was excellent and shared so much information about Vancouver! I loved riding in his beautiful BMW electric car! He is passionate about the city and I highly recommend the tour! Thank you Mike for making my first day in Vancouver a special experience!
