This tour is definitely a must do! Juliano was an exceptional guide and took us all around the various areas of Italy, areas we never would have seen otherwise. We also saw highlights of the city! The golf cart tour was a lot of fun and Juliano knew his history and his way around! Make this part of your trip. Definitely a must do.

On June 30, 2024, I booked a Golf Cart Tour Rome for my 4 family members for Sunday, July 24, 2024 at 10AM local time. The details were for an English Tour with Private Transportation.
On Saturday, July 23, 2024, I was contacted by the Tour Company with a note that “because of Covid” that the 10AM tour, which had been booked for 23 days, needed to be moved to 1PM. I have older parents so the Golf Cart Tour was an important part of my trip to Rome. So, as inconvenient as it was, I went ahead and agreed in an email to the time change and moved our other plans.
We then noticed an hour later that the vendor was still selling the 10AM time (that we originally booked) on his private website for almost double the price – which led to concerns about the Covid excuse. Either way, we had accepted the new time of 1PM PT and moved on.
At 1PM on Sunday, July 24, 2024, we were at the Cafe Peru to meet our Tour Guide. At Cafe Peru, there were two tour guides with two golf carts. Our Tour Guide introduced himself (the older of the two men) to us and stated that we would be leaving shortly and for my family of four to board the Golf Cart that accomodated five people. At this time, I offered the Tour Guide a drink, which I bought him a bottle of water.
After we were finally boarded, he said that we were waiting for another family to join a tour that was to be given in Spanish on the second cart with the younger driver. The other family must have cancelled and then the older driver insisted that we would then need to go with the younger driver because of technical problems with his cart (without him ever getting on the cart).
At this point, my family then had to board the other cart (a longer one) where we were seated the Spanish speaking family that had arrived later that us – losing our priority seating. The tour guide then asked my family “is it OK if I speak spanish”.
We tried to be good sports for the first 5 minutes of the ride but the driver spoke softly and we could not hear anything that he was saying (no microphone system). At this point, we asked for him to pullover and provide us back on the original Golf Cart that we were setup with the older driver. The younger driver then pretended to go through the motion to contact someone else but ultimately did not.
Finally, I told him that I wanted a refund as this was not the experience that we were promised. As you can see from the attached email (photo), Simone from the tour group contacted me and stated that a refund would be processed. We agreed and got off of the Golf Cart Tour and were very disappointed that we had rescheduled our day around such a “bait & switch” approach by this Operator.
As I returned to the U.S., I realize that the refund still had not been issued and that the Tour Guide had changed the story that I was verbally abusive and the tour was offered in english (neither is true) in an attempt to keep the $575 that we paid.
In closing (sorry for the long remarks), we booked eleven different items from Viator during our European vacation and this was the only one that was unacceptable. I am a reasonable person but you should make any effort possible to avoid this operator. They won’t keep to their schedule or their word. In the U.S., I would state what they did by presenting the two drivers with two carts to start and then unloading us because they couldn’t fill the second cart in Spanish + promising a refund and then declining as FRAUD.

We booked a tour through viator and the tour company didn’t show up. When we finally got connected after we had been waiting for 30 minutes, they said they could take us on a tour 5 hours later, which didn’t work as we had made dinner plans. It was really disappointing to be waiting and have had no communication until we reached out. If you book through viator, I recommend triple confirming your reservation directly with the tour company.
