What a great time! We were sent great information before the trip, the guides were very friendly and helpful, and they took great pix! It was good having four guides for 16 kayaks – while not a lot of instruction was given, they were there for help and advice when needed. They gave great information about the area and the bioflagellates. And because we had a “super moon” that night (so not great visibility for the bioluminescence), they had a huge tarp they spread over 4 kayaks at a time so we could splash and see the blue sparks! And having the super moon for a moonlight trip was excellent. Great experience!

We enjoyed the activity. The guides were very kind, entertaining and safety conscious. Kayaking was fun but a little chaotic, mainly because a lot of other groups were going in the opposite direction when we started the tour. It definitely helped to be in good shape and having kayaked before, but not totally necessary. The bioluminescence was pretty visible and overall it was a great experience!

This was really a unique experience. We went as a family of 5 and left before sunset (6:30-8:30), paddled through a channel of mangroves until we reached the lagoon, where once we reached it, it was dark. They give you a few minutes to ‘free time’ paddle around before you group together for a little classroom session on the algae and ecosystem. We were there at full moon, which isn’t ideal to see the bioluminescence, but we were still able to see it and it was fascinating! The trip back is challenging because you return though the channel against the current, but the guides help you. I would definitely recommend!
