It was so relaxing sitting in the boat watching the shore glide by as we listened to an entertaining and informative talk from the captain of the boat. We would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Hobart.

This cruise was fantastic & the 3 course dinner meal was so good. Well worth every cent. Best chicken schnitzel I’ve had in ages & hubby loved his mixed grill. Commentary throughout the cruise was great & we learnt something’s about our harbour that we didn’t know.
The ferry wasn’t overcrowded & staff were amazing
Highly recommend it for tourists. & locals we will definitely do it again.

This cruise is ideal for those who have an hour to spare, and want to take in the sunshine and history of Hobart and its past, present and emerging. Good commentary from the captain who is a character even if he says he’s not. The day was perfect for a cruise up the Derwent. Would recommend as it’s not too long, it’s informative and relaxing.

The entire boat is clean and nice, and the steak was good. The dessert was just not that good, I think it’s time to explore and change the dessert. It’s also nice that there’s a free drink included. Because it’s dinner, we just could not see clearly outside following the historical narration (maybe lunch would be better for that) but the bridge is nice at night time because of the lights.

Simple but tasty fare. Commentary throughout the journey would have been excellent, but for some really loud patrons at a couple of the tables. It was still a relaxing and rewarding experience with beautiful views!

Learning about Hobart present and history was fantastic. Though lunch was tasty the steak was very tough to cut and chew. Other then that we had a great afternoon

  13. TAYLOR_S

A very relaxing cruise. The food was excellent & there was plenty of it. I had the salmon & lemon tart, it was delicious. Next time I’ll do a lunch tour as with it being dark the view was obviously hindered.

The lunch was excellent. Commentary down stairs could have been abit louder and clearer while we were having our lunch. But value for money

  15. Janet_M

A great trip on the Derwent River for an hour and a half. A nice lunch was included in the price so was good value. Commentary was difficult to hear in the dining area whilst we were eating which was disappointing. On the upper deck it was much clearer and very informative. On the whole, well worth doing!

  16. TITCH_S

The 1 hour cruise was perfect. Good commentary . Luckily the weather was perfect, not much good on a rainy day. Took great pics which wouldn’t upload.

  17. Michelle_H

Lovely way to spend the afternoon with aging parents visiting from northwest coast they really enjoyed getting out and about comfortable seating

  18. Paul_C

Narrator. Great information about Hobart and Tasmania. Views from the water to the land are beautiful

  19. Ineke_C

The trip was comfortable and interesting although the commentary was quite difficult to understand due to the tinny speakers! Scenery was beautiful.
We took the lunch cruise and would not recommend the steak which was extremely fatty and undercooked! Other meal choices were ok.

The skipper’s knowledge of the historical Derwent River Sandy Bay Battery Point The Tasman Bridge and his life experiences of the whole area made our memorable trip an adventure to remember. The gorgeous old red ferry was historically inviting.and we had the best stern viewing seats to take in the stunning views on a sunny May afternoon .

The commentary was great. It was just long enough and worth it. Easy to book and find the departure point.
