I often do bike tours during trips – it allows you to cover much more ground than walking and gives you a better feel for the city than driving around in tour buses. It also gives you taste of places in the city you might want to go back to. This tour was excellent. Our guide, Neils sp?, was opinionated I like that and provided good information about the history and current state of Cape Town. The bikes were high quality and kept in great mechanical condition. Our tour on a Wednesday in October was small, just the 4 of us and one other couple, so it was easy to bunch up at the numerous stops and hear the guide I appreciate this because I have been on other tours where 12 or more people are trying to hear the guide – it just does not work. My only criticism is that I wish this tour was 30 to 60 minutes longer. The pace was not tiring and there were many older and architecturally-interesting buildings in Cape Town that I would have liked to have heard about that we rode by during the tour.

We like doing bike tours in cities that visit. Unlike in other cities, this tour had lots of cycling involved but it truly gave you a great view of the city.

This is a really great tour operated by the most helpful people. We had to change date, then change time, then add a person, then subtract a person. At all times the staff were so helpful. When we finally got on the tour, with rather nice road bikes, our guide Mike was excellent. He was knowledgeable, interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip. A really enjoyable cycle. We also received a water bottle memento to remind us of their great tour

This was a fun excursion! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared much information about the area. This was our first day in Cape Town and did not know what to expect. So, we rode our bikes through areas, stopped at a church, and was told to be careful around the train station and watch out for valuables. Not to worry, we have been to large cities before. I had booked a private tour and we finished in just under 3 hours. It was a few days later that we actually went on another tour of the city that showed the old fortress, and a church where Mandela gave his speech. It seemed like there were more places we could have rode and spent less time in a church.

The Hilton’s free shuttle service took me to the Waterfront at 8:00 am to have breakfast, view the morning activities at the Waterfront and meet with AWOL at 10:00 am. I opened googled map, Cape Town, South Africa to find the meet up location, which is the Information place on Dock Road, near Vovo Telo restaurant and the Ferris Wheel.A young ( Russian ) well-informed woman guided us, a small group of tourists around the city on a Sunday. I wore sneakers/ water shoes, yoga capri pants with an attachable skirt, a long sleeve button shirt that dries quickly and wisks the sweat away, a long thin windbreaker, sunglasses, a cloth cap with sweat band to line the helmet which they provided, a waterproof bag to protect my electronics and a foldable backpack to hold my stuff. I was delighted that the tour passed the Hilton, my chosen hotel in the Bo-Kaap neighborhood.Colorful houses with a slave history is today a Muslim neighborhood.I am an early riser, early in the morning around 5:30 am, I stood near my window on the fifth floor of the Hilton to see the onion dome of the mosque lit up, and to hear the soothing sound of Muslim people praying/ chanting.Lion’s Head and Table Top Mountain complimented the Mystical energy.Knowledgeable Dasha gave me the name of a Muslim restaurant with an excellent view of Lion’s Head, Table Top Mountain and Signal Hill.I chose the city bike tour to acquire knowledge of Cape Town, while I exercised with a group.

We truly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Paul was very professional and knowledgable. The bikes were in excellent and in like-new condition. The ride was fun and not too difficult (I’m 64). We want to all of Cape Towns high points and through some busy/lively streets. This is a great way to immerse yourself in the culture and orient yourself in the city.

What a great experience cycling through Cape Town. I found the tour guide, Peter, to be very knowledgeable, giving an impartial perspective to the history of Cape Town.
It was quite safe, but would recommend for Sundays as the town is quieter, and less cars and crazy mafia taxis on the road

Our tour was pretty good and we learned a lot about the history of Cape Town. I wouldn’t prioritize this tour if you have limited time because I think the best parts of Cape Town are the surrounding geography and not the city, personally. Our tour guide, Vincent, was very knowledgeable about Cape Town and South Africa but he was very hard to follow on bikes. He left us behind multiple times and did not even notice we had gotten stuck in traffic- and there were only 4 of us. The route we took was often not great for biking- like having to bike off tall sidewalks or biking on pedestrian sidewalks instead of the bike lane.
