Dave was an incredible guide. He coordinated everything with me beforehand and thankfully he was able to adjust a change in pick-up location.
As a solo petite female traveller, I felt very safe and taken care of on this tour. The drive to the safari was a beautiful drive through the mountains and Dave made sure to explain all the surroundings around me. The vineyards, the baboons, the townships etc. He was also very keen on the fact that I did have a late night the night before so when I needed to nap for a bit, I didn’t feel awkward sleeping while he drove. It really felt like a road trip with a close friend.
The Game Reserve was a beautiful resort and because we arrived early, he suggested that I had time to get a massage at the spa, which was perfect and the lunch was delicious.
Dave definitely knew everyone at the reserve so I truly felt like I was a VIP.
The private safari was INCREDIBLE and I got photos that were so close to the animals, it was a once in a lifetime experience.
I would highly recommend this tour with Dave, he’s a new friend I have found in Cape Town.

Very poor tour guide and trip to the park. First the van arrived late by 20 minutes and we received no notification. The sound system was very poor in the van. There was “no” water in The van as promised. When I asked about the water the answer was “we don’t have any water.” Very poor information proved by Lin about the tour. Only responded to questions. She was on her phone and texting most of the time. On the return trip she seemed to be be having a private conversation with the people up front. The actual safari and lunch was superb and worth the money. Otherwise I would have give this tour a 1 star rating!

Our guide, Chris, did everything possible to make this a memorable trip. We saw many animals and lions up close. A very wonderful and relaxing way to see the beauties of South Africa.

We had a great time on this safari, the journey was smooth and went quickly and we had a stop on the way for toilets and to get snacks and drinks. The Safari was incredible! We saw so many animals – lions, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, ostriches, zebras, springboks, elephants, elands, buffaloes – the ride was bumpy and super fun. We also got two complementary drinks and a great buffet.

We really enjoyed the trip. Saw 4 of the big 5. This tour was well organized and everything ran like clockwork, thanks to Mike our driver. Highly recommend this as an easy day trip and low-stress alternative to flying/traveling long distances for safari. Pick up and drop off at our Airbnb doorstep.

Mike our guide from the hotel was fantastic he was punctual knowledgeable and looked after us with five star treatment. An incredible day we saw four of the big five only missing the elusive leopards. We got the opportunity to take many photos and the guide was superb. Lunch was excellent and the facilities were very spotless. A fabulous introduction to a safari.

Mike the driver made the day for us, he was excellent company and his knowledge and safety tips were brilliant – he did everything he could to make our day special – sadly the Safari was not so good – over priced and over rated – our tour guide gave out very little information and the trip was quite boring – most of the time was spent driving round the area – not good value at all!
Deborah_F –
The safari was great. Mike our tour driver was awesome. That is all I have to say so please don’t ask for more characters
Elle_J –
It was a great experience. Like most, we spotted 4 of the 5 big five. But the safari driver Max was very entertaining and got us as close as possible to the animals.
Our driver Mike was also very informative and made our drive to the park very nice! We even made a stop at a cute winery on the way.

Interesting drive from Cape Town to the reserve. Good lunch and good transportation in reserve. Good guide for trip and reserve.

My wife and I had the most unbelievable experience using Out Of Africa for the trip to the safari. Our two guides (Dave and Danie) made the drive seem extremely short, and we discussed essentially every topic under the sun. Both gentlemen are a wealth of knowledge on both local, national and international issues. We were sad our time together had to end, but we will always remember the experience.

Seeing the animals up so close was more than I expected! They aren‘t shy and the tour guide knew the answer to every single question he was asked.

From start to finish, the tour was fantastic. Lynn (our guide) was knowledgable, witty, and very friendly. We even stopped for a brief wine tasting session along with several photo stops en route. The safari itself was wonderful, and we saw 4/5 of the Big Five, along with a plethora of other animals.

The safari guide knowing the trail seeing the animals in their natural habitat. Our safety was first the details and care. The staff were hospitable we were serve a complimentary welcome beverage wine was delicious. It was a good memory for a trip of a lifetime.

Mike was a wonderful guide. We started the day punctually at 8:15 and made our way to Aquila. It was a pretty fast commute to the range as he was explaining the history of where we were, where we’re going, etc. He is very experienced with this tour as he made sure we had great seats on the safari. Attentive and always checking in on us to see how we’re doing, etc. If you want a no-brainer experience Mike is your guide. Pay more and get the better experience. Please note, you’re paying for the drive to Aquila, there’s an extra charge to actually be in Aquila. (He’s recommended that you stay at least 1 night if you’re able to). On the way back, we drove through Chapman’s Peak, timed perfectly for a perfect sunset.
