Driving Around Maui Island Guide

We’ll start our journey in Kahului, the largest town on the island, where Maui’s main airport is located. From there, take the Hana Highway, one of the most scenic roads in the world. This winding road takes you along the coast and through lush rainforests, with stunning views of waterfalls and beaches.

Our first stop is the town of Paia, a laid-back surfer’s paradise known for its eclectic shops and restaurants. Take a stroll down the town’s main street, Hana Highway, and soak up the bohemian vibe.

Next, we’ll drive to Ho’okipa Beach Park, a popular spot for surfing and windsurfing. Here, you can watch skilled surfers ride the waves or simply take in the breathtaking views of the ocean.

As we continue along the Hana Highway, we’ll pass by the Ke’anae Arboretum, a botanical garden that showcases Maui’s diverse plant life. You can take a walk through the gardens and learn about the various flora and fauna of the island.

Our next stop is the town of Hana, a small and remote community that is home to some of Maui’s most beautiful beaches. Take some time to relax and enjoy the pristine sand and crystal-clear waters of Hana Bay.

After Hana, we’ll continue our drive to the Kipahulu District of Haleakala National Park. Here, you can take a short hike to see the famous Seven Sacred Pools, a series of waterfalls and natural swimming holes that are considered sacred by the local Hawaiian culture.

Finally, we’ll end our tour by driving up to the summit of Haleakala, Maui’s highest peak. From here, you can watch the sunrise or sunset and enjoy the panoramic views of the island below
