The guide was very informative, but sometimes kept us on the bus or in a group while passing along information, anecdotes, etc., where the time could have been spent actually looking at the monuments/memorials. The time allowed at each stop was not always enough due to the shear size of some of the memorials/monuments. I would still highly recommend this for others — especially if you have members in your group that aren’t able to get around well, do a lot of walking, etc.

We took two tours while in DC and this one was easily the better! Our guide, Vernon, was knowledgeable and fun. Shout out to him! The bus was comfortable and air conditioned. The driver, Chris, was excellent.
We stopped at many well-known sites with enough time to visit. Vernon accompanied us to each and continued to share information. We were given enough time to have lunch before boarding for the river cruise which we also enjoyed.
My only regret is that we had already booked our Monuments by Moonlight tour with another company. It was disappointing compared to this tour.

This 6-hour tour was just what we needed to see the sights in Washington DC. It covered all the memorials we wanted to see – The White House, Capitol and all the memorials (FDR, MLK, Korean, Vietnam, World War II, Iwo Jima and Lincoln). According to the website, a River Cruise was included up until Oct 15. We took this tour on Oct 16 and were not expecting the River Cruise. Unfortunately, this was the worst part of the tour. It was chilly on the boat and I left my sweater on the bus when we had lunch at the Harbor. From there we went right to the boat. The boat’s motor was loud and we were unable to hear a single word the voice on the microphone was saying. For those reasons I did not enjoy the river cruise at all. However, if this tour includes the river cruise, wear a sweater or jacket and sit close to the announcer so you can hear what he is saying.
