Awesome day! Best value for money.
Loved every aspect of the day though the helicopter ride probably trumped the day.

It was all brilliant and meeting Bone Cruncher face to face was exhilarating. Being able to fly over the area in the helicopter was also fantastic. Seeing wild boars, buffalo’s and wallabies was a treat. It was an absolute wonderful day and value for money

We had an absolutely awesome day. Lunch on board the boat was delicious and so much room to move about. The rooftop deck was perfect to relax and take photos. Sweets Lagoon offered spectacular scenery. The opportunity to cast a fishing line was an added bonus. Only one fish caught but still exciting. Loved the air boat and the experience seeing a huge croc was amazing. Helicopter flight definitely a highlight. Drinks and a swim in the pool was a great way to finish our trip. Only suggestion is to take snacks to have with drinks as no food was available to purchase.

It was a fabulous day, loved every minute. Our hosts Ellie and the crew were amazing and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day. The croc feeding was incredible, the heli ride and airboats were thrilling and it was wonderful to be so up close to nature in such a remote part of the NT. A truly memorable experience. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone wanting a taster of the NT. Rachel and family.

An epic experience! we went as a family for my croc-obsessed son’s 10th birthday and it certainly was a day that he’ll remember…especially as he got to meet his idol Matt Wright too. Everything ran super smoothly, and was highly engaging. I actually can’t pick a highlight of the tour as all the activities were awesome!

  15. Chris_A

We can’t thank Matt Wright’s team enough for making our day a special one. We unfortunately missed our early morning pickup due to insufficient information from Viator but had it rectified by Matt’s super professional staff. The airboat ride was amazing, as was the helicopter ride and everything else. So much to see and learn. Thank you for a lovely day.

    Top End Safari Day Camp.
WOW! Another amazing day filled with so much!
Early (very early) pick up @mattwrights office in Darwin CBD with a 1.5 hour (small) bus trip to Matt Wright’s croc rescue area.
Top End Safari Camp is located in the Peninsular Way region, north west of Litchfield National Park.
Every staff member was passionate, knowledgeable and very down to earth making everyone feel very comfortable!
When we got there…..a delish breaky of egg/bacon rolls, salad, fruit and tea/coffee served on the cruise boat.
We then climbed aboard an airboat – exhilarating ride down the Billabong and channels to check on the health of some of the largest crocs. Very up close and personal! Awesome!
At times the airboat throttled to an exciting high speed for a bit of a thrill and slowed down in appropriate areas.
On our return, bussed to see the rescue crocs. Awesome huge creatures with no known age limit! Chopper weighed around 700kg!
They can never get cancer, can survive if a limb is bitten off by another croc – they have 4 heart chambers and can slow their heart beat to one per minute, thus staunching the blood flow. Incredible prehistoric creatures!
    And there was more!
We bussed back to the camp where you may stay overnight in Yurt style glamping tents at additional cost.
A lovely clear swimming pool is available to cool down, bar with beer, wine, softies etc, to enjoy whilst waiting to board a helicopter for a 10 minute ride. Views over the flood plains and channels with a different perspective to what we saw earlier. We spotted some water buffalo cooling off under trees, flew over a mango farm; flowering and ready to fruit.
The local people, Bininji, rely on plants and nature to alert them when to expect the wet season and dry season (there are only 2 seasons up here). When certain trees flower they know to move to higher ground because the wet is coming. The indigenous ways are fascinating and their absolute love, care and respect of the environment is a message to us all. It truly makes you want to learn more.
If you are travelling to Darwin, , love nature, this is a must. Yes, it seems expensive but in my opinion, very worth it!
