Original flight was booked mid morning as recommended to enjoy best conditions. Just as we were leaving we received a call to say the wind was strong should delay to 1.30. Not that I am a pilot (!) however wind did not appear strong in the morning and when we actually flew wind had certainly picked up…..got me guessing something else was amis! Asked for an English speaking pilot which did not happen. Was a shame as sure we would have got more out of it with someone pointing out key locations etc. Lady at flight centre was extremely welcoming and helpful. Fantastic views….

Had to wait 45 mi utes past our schedule time for flight. Our driver had to wait. However the flight was vey good thoroughly enjoyed, never long enough. Sites were well covered by pilot. Mainly use Robinson R44 for flights.

I was expecting the helicopter ride to be the highlight of our trip, but it was just an average experience. When we arrived to Rio we went to Urca and Sugarloaf and saw that there are helicopters taking off from there. Everything was organized and the captain was wearing beautiful uniform, the passengers could take photo with the captain and it looked really cool. I got super excited as I knew we are flying next day, just with another company from another location.
First bad thing – the location of this helicopter ride company is FAR. It is about 45 minute drive from Rio. When we arrived our experience started 30 minutes late, but of course we were excited so we didn’t worry too much. We saw our helicopter landed and instead of allowing us to take a photo (as you agree it is a memorable experience) we were rushed into the helicopter and we were taking off before everyone buckled up. There was absolutely no reason to rush, weather was great and it felt like this company is like a factory that cares about money only. Our captain was wearing casual clothes and did not look neat or professional.
As the take off location was far it took a while to get to Rio and that is already time lost. Seeing Christ Redeemer was fantastic, but we didn’t go to Sugarloaf even though it is in description and we paid for it, while other helicopters fly there we could see that – really disappointing.
All in all instead of feeling excited and happy after the ride we felt disappointed. For the money you pay you expect more. I you ask me do I recommend this company – it is a no from me.
