Our trip was fabulous! Katia (not sure of the spelling) was personable, respectable, knowledgeable, and fun. She had folklore tales for the sites as well as history. We had plenty of time at each of the stops to take pictures and she made adjustments to the itinerary due to the fog so we could see 99% of the sights. Katia gave us choices and nothing was rushed and you weren’t pushed to hike or climb, etc. The lunch buffet was delicious and relaxed. We were only in Sao Miguel for a few days and were very happy to have taken this tour with such a knowledgeable and skilled driver as Katia. Highly recommend the West Island tour and company.

Eh Miguel!!!! Never Change. You have the soul of a survivor.
Pure, can have many different meanings. Having a local be your guide is what this company is all about!!. This is their home and we should cherish its beauty as they do :).
Even though it stated the west side, you got to see so much more. Going in the off season was the best decision I ever made 🙂 . If your a solo traveller who likes a little bit of quiet book in Sep-Nov.
He saves the best for last 🙂

Our tour of the west side of São Miguel island with João was fantastic! We lucked out with terrific weather following the previous day’s heavy storm and were able to see all of the sights with João’s expert read of the clouds and timing. It was so great to hear about the island’s history and current self-sustaining and sustainability practices from a born-and-bred local. The small group was fantastic and felt like the perfect size. João was extremely knowledgeable, an excellent driver, and a great photographer to boot! It was a magical day!
