  2. Zenna_N

Knowledgeable guide, relaxing and informative tour. Guide gave options for food instead of sticking to burger

  3. Helen_H

The river cruise to the sanctuary was very enjoyable with informative commentary and captain. The stay at the sanctuary was just about enough time for us although if you wanted to do everything on offer the cruise is not the way to get there

    Holding a Koala, petting kangaroos
Excellent raptor show. Food choices limited for those who do not eat meat. Gift shop very limited. Important to know that mobility impaired people should probably come a different way, since the boat dock requires walking up a steep flight of stairs at least 25 steps as well as a steep path.

  5. Christine_T

A most enjoyable day out – the boat ride was comfortable, the staff were excellent and the commentary was very informative. At the Koala Sanctuary there was plenty of opportunity to get close to the Koalas and to see many other animals, kangaroos, Tasmanian Devil, Platypus, Crocodiles, snakes etc. The animals were well looked after. If you want to have a photo taken with a Koala put your name down early as there were no places left in the afternoon..

  6. Terry_M

The crew on the boat. All the animal shows at the park. The history as told by the boat crew of the area.

It was a really nice trip. Thanks to our captain Dennis and crew. It is a thing that you have to do in Brisbane.

  8. Sue_W

Great cruise up the river to the Sanctuary. It was excellent up there. Make sure you prebook the koala experience if you want to hold one. It’s extra. Great trip and great day out.

  9. avid_h

Watching kangaroos shaking hands with people. I had such a great experience. I also loved the koalas waking up.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was the highlight of my trip! It started with a history lesson as I cruised the Brisbane River toward Lone Pine, then I got a picture taken with a koala, fed the kangaroos and saw a couple of animal shows. Great day at the park even with the rain.

  16. Lynne_J

A fantastic day combining an informative river cruise that delivers you straight to the koala sanctuary. The boat journey was relaxing and allowed you to see wonderful houses on the river banks. The commentary was very informative & the staff on the boat very helpful and friendly. The koala sanctuary was amazing. We recommend booking a photo slot in advance to hold a koala as the queues were long. Got up close to kangaroos & koalas with fantastic opportunities to smooth a kangaroo & take photos with them. The raptor & sheepdog demos were well worth watching. The sanctuary was well set out & easily covered in the time we had. If you are staying in South Brisbane this is an easy way to reach the sanctuary and combines the river cruise with your visit. Otherwise without a car, it would have been much harder to access. Great value for money & the best day of our visit to Brisbane. We highly recommend this trip.

  17. Dan_B

Wonderful combo with river cruise and sanctuary visit. Beautiful place, great exhibits and the cruise was pleasant. Be sure to reserve your koala picture time ahead as they sell out each day and with the cruise your timing is limited.

  18. luke_r

We loved having our photo taken with a koala. Even our teenage son agreed to have his picture taken.

  19. Heather_R

The cruise to the Sanctuary is absolutely the best way to experience the trip to Lone Pine. The sanctuary itself was a 10 star experience, be sure to pre book a koala hold! But the return journey lacked commentary and was a missed opportunity For us to ask questions and learn more.

What an amazing day! From the boat ride filled with a great narrative of the area to the actual experience of Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary! Such a beautiful and well maintained location and facility. We were able to easily walk to all the shows and see all the animals with no trouble at all. To be able to have the hands on experience with the kangaroos and the Kolas is a memory that will stay with us for ever! I will remember holding Sargent (the Koala) the rest of my life! Thank you for helping us fulfill a wish coming true!
