This was a great tour!! Our guide Gizmo was excellent!! He was funny, kind, polite, concerned for our comfort and went out of the way to assist us with photos, getting into and out of the Jeep, giving us the history of the area etc! He had plenty of cold water and beer ( we drank lots of bottled water). Request Gizmo as your guide and you will have an awesome trip! Our Jeep was very nice, with a hard top, and a working air conditioner which we used!!! There were 4 of us taking the tour together and we all enjoyed our lunch. The fresh fish for the tacos was delicious. The view from the open air restaurant overlooking the ocean was gorgeous. We did not snorkel. We spent our time instead walking on the beach. The water was of course beautiful! We would definitely recommend this Jeep tour

Oscar was a delightful guide! And contrary to some other reviews I have seen for this tour, he and his manager Hugo bent over backwards to meet OUR venue desires, i.e., a Mayan Ruins instead of tequila tasting etc. His cultural and historical knowledge was outstanding.

Gabriel was an amazing host and made the day incredible for my family. He encouraged our daughter to practice her Spanish skills and showed us the beauty of Cozumel. Being a resident of the island and former teacher was a difference maker. We loved every minute. The crocodiles and the lighthouse were epic. The food was special (and so cool that they make it in a kitchen on the roadside!) Gabriel even helped us find Cocunuts, a beautiful bar that I had a fond memory of from years ago and couldn’t remember the name. He really catered the day to our family and everything we wanted to experience. It was amazing. We have been on more than a dozen tours in our trips to Mexico and this tops the list.

OMG, this tour was AMAZING!!! Adriana, our private tour guide was the best!!! I will say, the only downfall was trying to locate the meet spot and finding our tour guide… when you travel on a cruise and have no internet, you don’t have the details (so have this prior to going, if you will be without cell service). The food included was not the best… but the AMAZING Tequila tour/tasting made up for it all lol! Highly recommended, just have your meet location and guide info readily available.

Alejandro was an amazing tour guide and really made our day in Cozumel memorable. We got an amazing tour. He even guided us while we snorkeled and found us a humongous sting ray which was not anticipated but made our day. Lunch was included and very fresh and authentic at a perfect spot across the street from the beach. We had a great time swimming and never felt rushed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants a fun filled day!

Our mistake… we should have never left in the vehicle. No seat belts, completely run down jeep and fumes came in from the bottom of the car where there were holes. There were sharp edges when getting in and out of the car, fortunately the driver pointed it out so we didn’t get hurt or ripped our clothes. Lunch was buffet, which we didn’t have anyway… If you have very low expectations, maybe this will work out for you.
Also, not really good communication from Viator, so probably going to go back to Tours by Local which we have used for many years and always had good experiences.

Had a relaxing day. We were able to mold it the way we wanted. Snorkeling, sightseeing, and a wonderful lunch on the beac

  8. John_P

Had to climb into old jeep where the front upper shoulder seat did not tilt forward. None of the gages worked.
Had to climb on top of back tire and jump into back seat. Lucky we were slim and not too old. Lucky the tour guide was very good.

Kevin was great! We were able to customize and do the things we wanted to with some great recommendations from our guide. We would definitely do this again and recommend to anyone coming to Cozumel.

Most memorable experience was not having the jeep show up and never being contacted to be told why. Even though we had a confirmation number, booking number, and a welcome letter, no one showed up to pick us up in front of the hotel. We had to contact the company that didn’t answer the phone. We had to utilize their chat which after an hour back and forth, we were informed Viator had overbooked and no tour was available to us. They asked us if we wanted to go the next day and they really expected us to trust them again? We demanded a refund and it should be coming. They ruined our day as we couldn’t get another tour because they didn’t bother to contact us. I’ve NEVER had an issue with booking a tour in my 40 years of traveling. Not showing up AND not contacting us is the absolute worse customer service ever.

Lovely day spent with Yared. He is an amazing guide and took us to a little out of the way natural pool with underwater caves. Cozumel is a beautiful island and a jeep tour is an excellent way to experience it

We enjoyed the tour but it wasn’t as fabulous as we hoped. Miguel was a great tour guide and a good driver. He showed us around the island and when we asked, he took us to a local bakery for snacks that were delicious.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so we could not do the snorkeling, which is such a risk in December, and what we were looking forward to doing. We spent more time at the Punta Sur Eco-park and really enjoyed it. A gorgeous view from the lighthouse and the tree house and some history about the island in the museum. We would return to the Eco-Park
We opted not for the included lunch since it was just chicken tacos and that wasn’t so good for most of our group. Our guide took us to a restaurant for lunch that was not part of the excursion. The food was good, but it was advertised as a locals place/ not for tourists/ local prices, but had a lot of tourists there and was actually quite expensive. Lunch for 4, after converting to USD, was $130. This was the price for only food, water, and soda (no alcohol).
We liked driving around the island even with the cold weather. We did opt not to do the beach stops and instead when to the Mayan Cultural Center. I realize afterwards, but we should have asked for this as a substitute since we didn’t get to go snorkeling. It was expensive considering we didn’t each lunch there and lunch is included in the price. We learned some things but wouldn’t go back if it was not already included in the tour price.
We were very excited for the tequila tasting since it seemed like we were at a small local place, similar to a winery. We felt that way during the visit, but it wasn’t until we go home that we realized that we overpaid for our bottle of tequila and it wasn’t the same bottle we tasted on the tour! (They wrap up your bottles in cardboard and duct tape so you can’t see it.) If you buy anything MAKE SURE TO CHECK THAT IT IS CORRECT.
We probably won’t use this company on a future visit to the island. It had potential, but ended up too expensive in the end.

Our guide Adriana (sp) was great.
really friendly and knowledgeable. Jeep was in good condition. Snorkeling was nice. Lunch was good but you need to pay extra for any drinks and appetizers.

Ian was our tourist guide, and he went beyond our expectations. He made us laugh, told us excellent stories, and gave us good knowledge of the area and story. I recommend him without a doubt; everyone knows him from the places that we visited, and everyone speaks very well about him

Adriana, our tour guide, was amazing! She went above and beyond to give our family a great experience in Cozumel! She even got in the water with us, and guided us while we snorkeled! She gave us a great tour of the entire island. We really enjoyed the lighthouse, etc. at Punta Sur.
I was a little disappointed, there were originally 6 of us, and we booked the jeep tour. We were told when we booked that we could have two guides, one guide/driver for each jeep, but the day before they said they were really busy and could only guarantee one guide. So they offered us the option of going all together in one van, which we chose. But we would have preferred two Jeeps with two guides.

Yarod was a superb guide for our group. It was a bit confusing on exactly where to find the pickup point… We easily found the shopping mall but mistakingly went right to the giant guitar of Hard Rock Cafe. We should have gone left to the MARTI sunglasses shop; that’s where our rep was located! This was our the first ocean snorkeling for our grandchildren ages 4-15! Yarod chose Cozumel’s Sky Reef for snorkeling right off shore and we all say amazing sea life, including a small reef with 5 lobsters, lots of large schools of various fish & small corals. Best of all we stumbled onto a live Octopus (about 18” head) near the stairs to exit! It was out in the open, probably heading back to it’s hole or cave after a night of feeding! All the kids are excellent swimmers (on swim teams) and definitely found a new passion in the water!
We did a tour around the island with stops at the punt de Sur lighthouse & crocodile park, a couple bars for drinks, raging waves, and a fajita lunch! Then a stop for chocolate & Taquila tasting (don’t pay the exorbitant prices!) The kids loved this stop too because they had a huge yard with, swimming, trampolines, animal petting etc! We had 3 jeeps for our group of 13!

Let me start by saying that I was SO excited about this tour and couldn’t wait to go. It was a Christmas gift for my partner. Before the cruise, no one from this company would get back to me. I tried contacting them through the portal and by calling. So I called Trip Advisor and spoke with one of the customer service representatives. He assured me that everything was fine; the tour company would be there to pick me and my partner up as we got off the ship. I asked if there was a specific meeting point and he said that they would be clearly waiting for me with signage when we got off. We got off the cruise ship at the correct time and NO ONE WAS THERE. I looked around through the swarms of solicitors and passengers. I walked through several areas and blocks. I went back to the disembarkation area. I asked multiple locals, tour guides, and other professionals. I tried calling the company. No answer. I messaged Trip Advisor. No one knew where they were. I finally decided not to ruin the day waiting for these people and bought another (AND VERY INFERIOR) tour from a solicitor. It was nothing like what I had planned and was a huge disappointment. Trip Advisor’s customer service was able to give me a full refund but it did not refund me the joy and anticipation that I felt for this trip that then turned to disappointment.

We had a great time with the fantastic Alice as our guide! We got a super windy day and we’re worried we wouldn’t be able to snorkel, but Alice found a great, easy spot at Sky Reef- which started our half-day on a great note.
Enjoyed someone else doing the driving, and letting us take our time at various interesting spots.
Could take or leave the tequila and chocolate tasting at the end, the only part of the day we didn’t love.
We felt like we were in great hands for a scenic trip we would have otherwise probably missed.
    A really good day.

Awesome trip that allowed us to see so many wonderful attractions around the island! The view from the top of the lighthouse is not to be missed!

Our guide Pablo went beyond to show us and explain culture and history of native people. The riffs are gorgeous, the beach and food amazing! We had an incredible experience! Strongly recommended!

Loved the ability to decide where we wanted to go and to have the privacy of our family of 6, all adults. We had to drive one of the jeeps and it was in need of seriously maintenance, both of the jeeps were. Guide was very good, she took us to some fun stops and swam with us while snorkeling. The snorkeling was ok, always better to take a boat so you can go to the better places. None of us drink so we didn’t do the alcohol tasting and the chocolate bars are $20 each so didn’t purchase any. Enjoyed lunch and saw some beautiful places.
