It was a great experience that I wouldn’t want to miss! And for me – almost 120 kilos and limited fitness – it was the limit physically and in terms of adrenaline. There are slides at the end that are intense when you see them. I never would have thought that I would dare to go down there. It was really okay when I did it and I was proud when I was down. There were also two participants over the age of 60 who could and did everything. But I think you should know that “for beginners” doesn’t mean that it’s a walk, and it’s also not completely safe: one of our participants really needed the helmet at the moment of a personal mishap while abseiling. If you are aware of this and are looking for a kick without being an extreme athlete, then you have come to the right place!

Wauw! Wij hebben enorm genoten van onze eerste keer canyoning. Mirka en haar vrouwelijke collega (van wie we helaas haar naam vergeten zijn) waren super fijne gidsen. Ze hadden veel geduld en hebben ons goed en veilig, met duidelijke instructies begeleid. Wij zijn een gezin met twee kinderen (13 en 9). De wandeling van een klein half uurtje naar boven met onze uitrusting was best pittig. Maar met een rustig tempo konden we dat goed bijbenen. Het glijden en klimmen in het water was super gaaf. Op sommige plekken was het best hoog en spannend en kregen we een dikke adrenaline rush. We hadden dit voor geen goud willen missen. Wij raden deze activiteit aan voor iedereen die kennis wil maken met canyoning. Life starts at the end of your comfortzone!
