Lovely to have had an opportunity to learn how to work with batik. Gave a basic introduction. Delighted with my beginner attempt! Found the venue to be a bit noisy and would have liked some history on the craft of batik. More Detailed instructions to the workshop room would have been helpful. Recommend.

I had a great time with my mum. We learned a lot about batik! It was a very therapeutic moment. I’m glad I’m able to learn how to make and draw batik. My mum had a lot of fun! I will for sure come again and bring my siblings and friends along!

Learning how to use the wax and the different colours to paint and how to blend. And the trick to melt the wax after. Was a nice chill time. Thanks for the teacher’s patience too.

Instructors were friendly and instructions were clear. Just follow the simple instructions will do. My dad and I enjoyed our session.

Fun way to spend a couple of hours learning some basic batik painting and wax techniques. Got to take home a couple of pieces that had been nicely finished for us by Kamal Arts too!

I would recommend as this was something totally new to experience. The actual process however was not well explained. I am english speaking so I do not know if that was a factor, but there was no explanation beyond- pick a pattern, this is the tool you use and how to use it. then she walked away- still near-by but doing her own thing. After the first step, she then brought out the paints and said some technique to blend colors. I wasn’t aware there was a correction tool for step 1 or things I could have done to improve my project. My take away was fine but had I known more info it may have actually been nice.

Very hands on and no fear for first timer who may turn to repeater. Extremely enjoyable experience and good opportunity to know very rich culture. Wonderful teacher and very pleasant artistic studio.

Teacher Kamal is very experienced and friendly. I am really satisfied with the lesson. I will recommend the lesson to my friends.

  9. Miriam_H

the batik lesson itself! The teacher was wonderful. one on one. It clearly was not a studio meant for tourists which made it all the more fun. Clearly in an office building mean for the locals.

A beautiful artwork was revealed to be a fairly easy process and a great way to unwind and de-stress.

We had a great time while learning a lot. And, I think we will actually try to get better at this when we get home. We found the teacher very inspirational as well as highly skilled. it was a wonderful afternoon.

The instructor was clear as we were first timers. He explained the different steps and the do’s and donts before we began. The tips during the process was useful too.
