A big thank you to Alex for an amazing tour. Alex is super nice, extremely knowledgeable and a great photographer! If you are looking to make a trip to Bako National Park I would highly recommend hiring Alex as your guide. He knows where to look for the animals, familiar with the treks and knowledgable about the plants. Without a guide most likely you will not get to fully make the most of your visit. Many people were stopping to ask him questions as they didn’t have a guide or were not sure where to go. Thank you once again for an amazing experience! In terms of the park itself- it’s an incredible experience to be so close to monkeys and boars etc, the views are phenomenal and overall a very tranquil place.

Bako National Park is a gem of a place for nature lovers. There are flora and fauna in abundance. We were able to see the 3 species of monkey( Proboscis, Macaque and Silver Leaf),flying lemur, Bearded pig, monitor lizard, viper and the iconic sandstone formation, Sea Stack. However one must be pretty fit to go on the walking trails as it deals with a lot of hiking up steep gradients.Individuals with lower limb joint ailments should not go on these trails. The guide was able to show us where the animals were and made the sightings pretty easy. This excursion is a must go for nature lovers!

Jey Ha (I am sure I don’t spell the name correctly) was an incredible guide. He went us through the best paths of Bako, introducing us numerous of plants and animals. He also had an amazing timing, feeling and skills to help us spot the wildlife. We have seen Viper, Silver leaf, Macaques, Proboscis monkeys, wild Boars and many more in just a day.
He is also a master of Malaysian cultural explaining us and sharing us stories from tribes across Borneo. He offered us options and flexibility, but following all his recommendations was worth it.
I wish we had more days to take more tours with him. Definitely recommended!
