John was wonderful- he provided great commentary, was funny, and informative. Our problem was with the other passengers- it was very obvious two of them were sick. They mentioned their daughter was feeling so unwell she couldn’t come and then the father and son coughed the entire van ride. They didn’t wear masks or even cover their mouths. I think at a minimum windows in the van should’ve been kept open and the passengers required to wear masks. But actually I think they shouldn’t have been allowed on the tour and should’ve been rebooked when feeling better. My husband and I were very uncomfortable the whole day and wouldn’t do it again for that reason.

I am truly impressed by the trip and how well it was organized. Everything went smoothly and on time. Our guide John was amazing – cheeky and funny guy who knows a lot about the region. His knowledge and passion about travelling made me feel like a real explorer for about 13h. He definitely knows how to talk and inspire people. All in all, I am left with an extremely positive experience which I will remember for years. Thank you for being on the market because your staff is a definition of real customer care and inspiration.

Our guide, John, was an absolute delight. He made everyone feel very welcome on the tour, was very well informed, and was very friendly with all involved in the experience, from the tourists to the staff at Hobbiton and Waitomo. He even threw in some cheeky surprises (almost felt like we were in NYC at one point 😛 ) along the way. Amazing way to spend a day; I heartily recommend.
