We had a blast! The bridge and swimming at the waterfall was wonderful. After the ride we had time to enjoy a swim in their beautiful pool and eat a very good meal with drinks. Highly recommend! The staff is wonderful.

In my personal opinion this tour was not worth the $425 I spent for 3 people on a 4 person RZR. It wasn’t all bad so I’ll start with the positives…
    Positives:
    1. The ride up the mountain to the facility was an easy 35 min by open air bus and got to see a lot of the real Puerto Vallarta. We drove by a local school and they had a sign that said “Thank You Canopy River” so it’s nice to see that they give back to the local community. The facility itself is very nice and they have a lot to do, you could spend an entire day (and entire paycheck) there with all of the activities available and they are building a hotel. The views from the facility are top notch and you can see all the way to the ocean.
    2. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. They checked on us during the tour several times always asking us how we were doing and if everything was ok. They were very watchful and attentive during the swim session at the waterfall as I’m sure they’ve experienced a few swimming emergencies.
    3. The food was very good and prices were reasonable.
    Negatives:
    1. We went in June which was the very end of the dry season so most of the jungle looked dead and the roads were very dusty. Your experience will be much better if you are going in the wet season. If you’re not the first vehicle in the group then you’re spending the entire ride in a thick cloud of dust. DO NOT wear anything that you want to keep afterwards unless it’s black or a shade of brown. Light colored clothing will be ruined by the dust. I wore a grey Under Armor T-shirt and it’s stained with the brown dust. Socks went in the trash. Put your bags in the locker provided at the beginning as they will be caked in dust or bring a trash bag or similar to put your stuff in if you want to take it.
    2. There was a water feature, PVC pipe with holes drilled in it, that you drive through along with a large puddle which gets you just wet enough to turn all the dust you’re caked with into mud. Thank God the waterfall wasn’t too far away to go swim in but you’re right back on the dirt roads afterwards so you end up with even more dust sticking to you. If you don’t like getting dirty the ATV/RZR tour is not for you.
    3. There wasn’t much to look at during most of the drive. The trails mostly wound up and down through areas between peaks – there were no expansive views to the ocean or otherwise until the end of the tour. Just dead (or rather dormant) and dusty jungle. Really the only place worth taking pictures was the facility, the waterfall and the bar at the end.
    4. The bridge was the prime reason I selected the tour but it really wasn’t as impressive in person driving across it. I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I walked across it, perhaps because I was driving and just concentrating on not running the RZR into the sides.
    5. Once it was over we had an hour before our bus left so we wanted to check out the infinity pool as the view is amazing and we were hot and dirty and would’ve been nice to jump in. We were referred to the souvenir shop to pay our $8 per person but there was no one there. I returned to the pool where the staff member radioed for help but help didn’t come. I was told that the person that was running the souvenir shop just went to lunch so apparently there was no one else on staff that could’ve taken our money. It was for the better anyway since it really wouldn’t have been worth $24 for an hour. IMO it should be free, especially for someone that just dropped $425 on a tour AND we only had an hour to use it anyway. I think everyone else felt the same since no one else decided to pay it either, the pool was empty and there were multiple tour and zip line groups there.
Overall I was underwhelmed and disappointed with the tour, definitely not worth what we spent on it. I regret not taking a half day jet ski tour.

Great experience. Beautiful views. Staff was very friendly. Definitely dusty and dirty but in a fun way. Waterfall area was amazing. Ask for Eddie. He wants to be famous

We had a blast on this adventure. The terrain is beautiful and the guides were fun. It exceeded all our expectations. I’d recommend this to anyone.

Most memorable was crossing the Jorullo bridge! Having the view from the rest stop was very nice as well.

  8. Yuridia_V

Felt like a waste of a day. We expected the experience to be so much more. It was lackluster at best.
First, yea it’s 5 ish hours – most of spent waiting/driving in the shuttle. Then you get there – and the time on the ATVs is short lived. You ride in a single file line to the “waterfall” where the water is super murky. And most people don’t even feel like getting in. Some younger guys got on the rock to jump a few times and then it was time to go. Maybe 20 mins.
Then we rode to some bar where you have time to pay for maybe one beer and then there’s nothing else to do but sit and wait for them to say we’re leaving.
Since we rode in a single file line, how fast you can go is based on the person in front of you. Also – they say you’ll get wet and dirty and all this – we didn’t. There were no occasions that we went through big puddles or anything. Again. Lack luster.
Then once you’re back after the bridge – you sit around for almost 2 hours just to leave. They have a restaurant there that didn’t seem be very popular. You pretty much sit around, bored, with nothing to do until you get on their trailer to go home . Best part – they dropped us off on our hotel’s street.
    Wouldn’t do this again.

The people working here are honestly amazing. They always made me feel so comfortable which was really appreciated since this was my first time on an ATV. As a bigger girl, I had some trouble coming back up from seeing the waterfall but never did they rush me and kept telling me to take my time. They even offered to drive me back if I didn’t feel good but I pulled through. The views were so beautiful and crossing the bridge at the end was the cherry on top. I was truly blown away by this wonderful experience and people. I will definitely do it again. Thank you!

This tour was soooo amazing!! I cannot say enough good things about the guides and the bus drivers! Everyone was so nice and helpful. We had the best time. Gorgeous views, waterfall and 4 wheeling and Mexican water of course!

  12. Barry_O

The ATV’s were one of the best parts to our trip. The guides were amazing. I highly recommend this excursion.

  13. Danielle_C

Very hot ride/hike to the waterfall, only to not be able to get in. Water is very murky. No one went in. I know it is due to the season but they should have disclosed this. A lot of idle time at the restaurant. I would much rather finish my excursion and head out.

  14. Edmundo_C

The team was really supportive and entertaining. My wife was having a hard time driving (driving a two seater) but the line leader did not make a big deal about needing to switch drivers.
The roads were not too challenging and straightforward. You are able to bring your items to a locker that they keep locked up or keep them on your person, so yes you can record yourself on the bridge and at the waterfall.

  15. GiselleMarcial

An amazing wet and dirty experience. The rain made the experience even better, it felt necessary. Can’t wait to do it all over again in the future.

I’ve been to about 6 countries in the last 3 months and done a dozen or so tours and this is one of the best tours I’ve ever done! It was worth every penny. My boyfriend and I went and had the time of our lives. We got to drive the RZR for nearly two hours, splash through waterfalls, hike to a swimming hole and big waterfall as well as stop to enjoy a cold beer while admiring the Jorullo bridge before driving over it. The Canopy River staff was awesome from begging (pick up at the office in Las Glorias) to the end (return drop off at Las Glorias). Our RZR was having issues turning to the right and the staff switched ours for a different one and completely made our tour even better. Bring dark clothes or clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, trust me if you go through the puddles like we did you will get muddy. 😂

  18. Laith_E

It’s super fun! The views are stunning the speed and timing is just perfect and the tour guide was the best!

  19. Dawn_B

Loved it! Not for beginners or kids it’s has a LOT of hills & turns, very dusty, hard to see, and kind of scary at times. It’s definitely for adrenaline junkies as I am not. We had a great time the bridge is the safest easiest part and very beautiful and breathe taking. Nice stop up top at bar to catch breathe. Rum tasting after nice and food was good! You get tons of pics with great angles but we didn’t purchase kind of expensive.

Amazing adventure. Not fond of heights or bridges, but this was truly worth it. The trip to the waterfall was a little challenging. Would definitely do it all over again. All guides were wonderful.
