I would not suggest. They provide essentially a bud ride to the acropolis with a few stops along the way to snag a photo. The guide seemed to knowledgeable and was nice but I would say this is overpriced for what you get. Your better off getting the recorded guide there at the site. Lots of people on the tour and hard to hear and take in the sites. They don’t even offer you water.

This tour was very good. The tour guide, Dora, was great. Very informative. I would have given it 5 stars, which the guide deserved, but this was booked as an ENGLISH only tour. The bus was full, with one couple that spoke French, and the tour guide had to repeat everything in French. Took a lot of time to repeat everything twice. I’ve used Viator before, and never had a problem.

Endless waiting around to get the tour started. Very little interaction from the tour guide who was pleasant but not a great communicator. No water to keep us cool. Had to wait around constantly. We never got to see the museum as we decided we would rather see the sights ourselves rather than yet another wait for tickets etc. we would not use Viator again.

The Acropolis was overcrowded and we spent an hour and a half standing in a slow moving line with a thousand other tourists. Not the fault of Chat, but could have been minimized if we had left earlier. Also the tour had 34 people so when the knowledgeable guide pointed out a site, it was a few minutes before we could see it and by then we forgot what she said. The guide tried hard but she was in a no win situation. The museum was spectacular. We only saw the Olympic stadium from the bus due to time constraints.

Joy, our tour guide was an absolute delight and very informative on the history of Greece, Athens as a city and the people.
The description of our excursion listed timing as 8:30am to 11:30am. However, to our delight the actual timing was 8:30am to 2pm. This allowed good amounts of time for each of the 3 portions of the trip: Museum, city highlights, and the Acropolis.
According to Joy, the timing and order of each our excursion is determined by the Museum entry schedule allotted to the group. We had hoped to do the long walk up the Acropolis first. Our schedule was to start at the Museum followed by the city tour and then finish with the Acropolis. This turned out to be ideal as we were free to stay at the Acropolis as long as we desired. We simply returned our whisper headsets to Joy as she concluded her guided tour at the top and exploded in our own for the remainder of the day.
For reference on the physical requirements I would share, we are in our early fifties and counted 10k+ steps and 16+ ‘flights’ of stairs for our half day excursion according to both of our fitness watches. Drink plenty of water. We brought a long 1 bottle each and bought another during the excursion.

The visit to the Acopolis was magnificent but the tour of the museum was somewhat dissapointing. Very crowded and slightly boring.

This three hour tour was mainly spent navigating crowded Athens streets, jostling for bus park near Acropolis, climbing up to it, waiting about 25 mins to enter reserve, then after a short time up at Acropolis doing it all in reverse. That all took around 2.5 hours. We did see a few other interesting sites but this was in last 45 mins of tour. Having said all that, the guide was very good and knowledgeable but half day isn’t realistic for this tour. It also rained incessantly for most of the trip.

There were a lot of people in the tour and I think it overwhelmed our tour guide who was a very nice person. Tour guide would’ve been better suited with a small tour group. I would recommend taking other tours or just no tour at all and going to see these sites on your own.

The return trip was horrible in that we were told to exit the bus quickly and walk back independently to the start point. A city festival had caused a traffic reroute. This route change could have been anticipated by the tour company. A partial refund is in order.
