A great day in Abu Dhabi with Ganesh, who was very knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions about the culture.
Be careful though: this tour gives you a lot of time at the mosque, however you only see the Emirates palace and the presidential palace from the distance, you don’t actually stop or enter those places.

The Grand Mosque is amazing, the whole tour was enjoyable and Emirates Palace was lovely…the tour guide was very informative, pleasant, helpful and as I was more or less on my own, he was willing to take photos for me if I wanted to be included in the shot…

Wij hadden een aardige man genaamd Bilall. Hij heeft ons overal gebracht en verteld over de geschiedenis van Abu Dabhi. Ook maakte hij foto’s van ons erg vriendelijk! Wij hebben ontzettend genoten. Alleen wat jammer was dat wij naar een soort museum gebracht waar zij kleden verkochten. Kleden die geweven waren met goud en stenen. Dit was meer iets opdringerig.

I booked this tour about a week before it happened, but by day before, had not heard details regarding pickup. After reaching out to both the tour operator and Viator, I finally got a time range, provided around 9pm the night before, and then a final time after midnight. The guide was late – I know he cannot control traffic. But the first stop was to get gas – that should have been done before picking up guests. The vehicle was in poor condition – handles missing, dashboard warning light going off the whole day, etc. The guide himself was very nice and seemed quite knowledgeable. Time at grand mosque was not long enough as it takes a good thirty minutes just to get into the mosque. I was disappointed that the listing on Viator said the tour included the presidential palace but we only saw that from afar even though listing said admission included. I was also disappointed that we only had one option for lunch (and it was not good and cost 69 AED) – again the listing showed we should have been taken to Marina Mall where I would guess there would be plenty of choices. Please note the quoted time of 8-10 hours includes the drive back and forth – the actual tour in Abu Dhabi was only six hours. I hope this does not count against the guide as he was knowledgeable but viator or Navita tours really needs to offer a refund to me on this one.
