Hello and welcome to my travel blog! Today, I’m going to take you on a journey through Zimbabwe, a country known for its breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and vibrant culture. I recently had the pleasure of spending 14 days exploring this fascinating country and wanted to share my experience with you.

Day 1-2: Harare
I started my trip in the capital city of Harare, which is located in the northern part of the country. The city is a bustling metropolis with plenty to see and do. I visited the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, which houses an impressive collection of contemporary African art. I also explored the city’s many markets and street vendors, where I found some incredible handmade crafts and souvenirs.

The Great Zimbabwe Ruins are a complex of stone structures located in modern-day Zimbabwe, southern Africa. These structures are believed to have been built between the 11th and 15th centuries by the Shona people, who were the dominant ethnic group in the region at that time. The ruins are significant as they provide evidence of the sophisticated architectural skills and cultural achievements of the Shona people.

The Great Zimbabwe Ruins consist of three main areas: the Hill Complex, the Valley Complex, and the Great Enclosure. The Hill Complex is the oldest and largest of the three, and is situated on a hilltop overlooking the other two complexes. Located in the western part of Zimbabwe, Hwange National Park covers an area of over 14,000 square kilometers and is home to over 100 species of mammals and 400 species of birds. It is also the largest game reserve in Zimbabwe, making it an ideal destination for those who want to see as many animals as possible.

Getting to Hwange National Park is relatively easy. You can fly into Victoria Falls and take a road transfer to the park, or you can drive from the capital city of Harare, which takes around 6-7 hours.
