This was an amazing tour and our guide was fantastic. We arrived to Kangaroo Island on a cruise ship and fellow travellers had tours that saw 3 placesorganised by the ship but we visited about 8. We were in a very comfortable airconditioned mini touring bus. We got fantastic value for money and it was easy to meet our guide to begin the trip. This was a very personal way of seeing Kangaroo island by a local who knew and loved K.I well. My father was elderly and was well catered for. Yes we absolutely recommend this tour !!!

Our tour guide was lovely patient and funny. All of our stops were varied, interesting and fun. Our transport was comfortable

From booking the tour, pick up location, information provided along the way, Visiting some of KI’s little known (to me) hidden gems and businesses, enjoying the scenery, it was one of the best bus tours I have done. We will be back.

We had a great time. All stops were really interesting. The only recommendation I would have is to have lunch at a pub or winery.

That was a very bad experience we ever had before, we couldn’t make it for this day tour, because we are waiting at the wrong spots, actually was stated at pickup details (once you arrive to the jetty Cruise ship port, Penneshaw, turn to your left where you will see our drivers holding up a sign as follows: Kangaroo Island Trails Food & Wine Tour) we have followed the instructions, but the driver was waiting at the right side, we are there 8:30am, the pickup time was 9:30 and we did texted and called the person who with the contact provided by Viator, but the person didn’t answered the call. after 10am we got the texted back, she said the tour guide did try to ring us twice, but our phone doesn’t have any missed calls, so ended up they did refund 50% back to us, even though they did refund to us, but we are so disappointed for this experience.

Our guide Garry was very helpful and let us know how long we had at each stop. He also gave us a bit of history of the island. We highly recommend this shore tour.

Niki the driver has lived on the island her whole life. So the most knowledgeable friendly and so experienced guide. The whole day was the best day our whole group had. The bakery for lunch was perfect. Niki gave a much information about the island both professionally and her own experiences. 5 stars not a high enough rating.

Cider sampling and Eucalyptus information very useful.

We had a lovely tour. Plenty of time at every stop to enjoy Kangaroo Island. We had a bonus stop at a lovely look out. Out tour guide even went out of her way to return my daughters phone which she had left on the bus. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us. Gin distillery and lavender farm were definitely my highlights. Had lunch at Cactus Cafe and that was great too.

Great full day tour with Garry, he was a brilliant guide, nothing disappointed. He even managed to squeeze in a couple of extra stops due to his knowledge of the island and on one we saw a couple of Koalas in the wild, top marks from us.

Lutz was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the Island and it’s history. We got to see a lot of the island. Sampling gin, wine, ciders as well as a lovely scones and drink at the lavender farm.
I enjoyed this tour and hope that if you do it ,younger Lutz

The only thing I can say is I booked and paid for a tour for 4 people advised the ship I was on money was accepted and no reply until we were at sea and still hadn’t been advised of our pick up until requesting on various occasions then when I finally got to take to some ome one we were advised that we could not go on this tour which was advised for cruise ships only because we were to far away I requested that we receive a refund as to date we have had no communications at all

Enjoyed all the trip and our guide. Had a lot of interesting information to share about Kangaroo Island. All the businesses we went to were worth seeing and I am glad we booked the trip. The gin at the gin distillery was really nice and I purchased a pack with five small bottles of their gin. we really enjoyed the scone at the Lavender Farm.

    Gin distillery absolutely fabulous
    Lavender farm amazing
    Emu farm just great
    Winery classy
Tour guide was aware we did not see much of the scenery Kangaroo Island is noted for so he took us to see some surf beaches. Thank you it was a great day

We enjoyed the tour and our driver/tour guide, Gary, was excellent. The places we visited were interesting and the tour was well organised.

  17. Yolanda_A

There is not much to see in a short period of time. It was rainy and wet this time of the year. Good for wine lovers.

  18. Janet_M

The tour provides not only a tasting experience but also an overview of the history and fauna of the island. Our tour guide Nikki, a long term local, was terrific at giving tourists lots of relevant information on a range of topics. Plus the tour covers a range of experiences – lavender farm with wonderful scones, honey, wine tasting, gin tasting (thanks to the Shy Wren), eucalyptus distillery and spotting koalas and kangaroos.

Nikki was a wonderful tour guide and excellent Naturalist – giving us great insight to the birds and animals of the Island. As we were driving down the road she stopped quickly and told us to look up in the tree … there was a wild Koala! She took us to a winery, the beautiful rugged and sandy beaches on the island, a lavender farm, a cider tasting farm (where we saw a kangaroo and Emu!) and before we got back to the ship there was gin tastings. We had a marvelous day on this small, but very interesting island. A must see!

  20. Debbie_S

Nikki was our tour guide. She is a local to Kangaroo Island and was a wealth of knowledge that she eagerly shared with us! She made sure that we saw a kangaroo in the wild as well as a Koala bear. The gin tasting was definitely a highlight of the day.
