A Trip To Zambia Travel Blog

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Zambia from Victoria Falls and I wanted to share my experience with you. Zambia is a landlocked country in Southern Africa and it is known for its wildlife, natural beauty and friendly people. My trip started in Victoria Falls, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Africa, and continued to Livingstone and Lusaka, the capital city.

Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River and it is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The falls are over 1.7 km wide and 108 meters high and the view is simply breathtaking. I visited the falls early in the morning and the mist created by the falling water created a rainbow that was truly magical. I also had the chance to go on a helicopter tour over the falls which gave me a unique perspective on this natural wonder.

From Victoria Falls, I continued my journey to Livingstone, a town located just across the border in Zambia. Livingstone is named after the Scottish explorer David Livingstone who was the first European to discover the falls in 1855. Livingstone is a small town with a laid-back atmosphere and it offers a range of activities for tourists. I went on a sunset river cruise on the Zambezi River and I saw crocodiles, hippos and a variety of bird species. I also visited the Livingstone Museum which has a collection of artefacts related to David Livingstone and the history of Zambia.

Finally, I travelled to Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. Lusaka is a bustling city with a population of over 2 million people. I visited the National Museum which has exhibits on Zambian culture, history and art. I also visited the Lusaka City Market which is the largest market in the country and offers a wide range of locally made crafts, clothing and food.

One of the highlights of my trip was the food. Zambia has a diverse cuisine that is influenced by its neighbouring countries. I tried a dish called Nshima which is a staple food made from ground maize that is served with a variety of stews and vegetables. I also tried a local beer called Mosi which was refreshing and had a unique flavour.

In conclusion, my trip to Zambia from Victoria Falls was an unforgettable experience. The natural beauty, friendly people and delicious food made it a trip that I will always remember. I would highly recommend Zambia to anyone who loves adventure, wildlife and culture.
