All of the buildings, especially the Capital is so special and revered. Hard to believe those people stormed. It deserves the utmost respect.

This tour should not have started where it did. A lot of unnecessary walking to the Capital itself…..the delays with stopping and starting caused us less than 10 minutes at Library of Congress before being kicked out. The delays of entering the Capitol/Rotunda caused another 15 minutes of wasted time as our tour guide had to argue with staff the ability to gain access (we couldn’t use the rest rooms, but had to wait blocking the hallway)! The tour should have started at the Capital and allowed us more time to mill around, my feelings, we were rushed all the time.

I called this tour the day before since I needed to move the tour date due to an emergency to the following day.
I messaged and called several times – their voice mail was full and I did the “leave a text message” option.
No one called me back until 2pm the day of the booked tour, and when I tried to explain the situation I was told “No one told ME” and was hung up on.
An extremely unprofessional experience and given that this tour is expensive I was surprised how poorly they communicated / never got back to messages from a day before / how blatantly rude they were. They could have called back anytime that day and clearly didn’t care and just wanted my money.
Save your money and book a different tour.

We really enjoyed our tour with Dewayne. We learned so much about the Capital and the Library of Congress. We took his excellent suggestion to get a library card from the LOC and it’s my favorite souvenir. We also went to Old Ebbitt Grill at his recommendation for a delicious brunch. He’s right, the French dip is amazing!
Dorothy_B –
Dwayne was an awesome tour guide!! I read a lot of reviews that he was a good guide, then we were lucky enough to get him too. Loved seeing the library of Congress!
LindaJane_M –
Dwayne was our guide and he made the tour incredibly interesting. The walk was easy going for everyone and we saw so much and it was a lovely way to see the ‘sights’ and ‘sounds’ of this area. We were very impressed with Dwayne’s knowledge and that he even sat in on Sandra’s tour of the Capitol because as he said there was always something new to learn.
Christine_M –
Dwayne was a great tour guide! Always ready with intersting details about the sights to enrich our experience. Definitely worth getting this tour to get the most out of a trip to DC!
Leigh_g –
Our tour guide was fabulous! Very knowledgeable helpful, kind, energetic. Clear the he loves history and this city.
Lauren_B –
Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable. He made the tour so interesting and contributed bits of history that enhanced the tour.

We chose this tour because it was the only one with availability inside the Capitol Building on our travel dates. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable but we felt he did not use time in the best way. There were far too many stops along the way in light of the time crunch (of which we were unaware.) We were rushed through our Capitol tour, had 2 minutes in the hall of statues and ran like lunatics (lost some members) to the Jefferson library where the guards angrily told us they were doing us a favor by staying open. In addition It was an extremely hot day and it seems that each time he stopped to discuss an interesting building or historical sight he did so in the hot sun instead of stopping in the shade (which was often available nearby.) It seems to me it would make sense for the tour to begin much closer to the Capitol.

I loved the walking portion of the tour. The guide was so articulate and knowlegable. I learned so much.
hans_i –
The walking in the Capitol was nice, but not the start on the street and walk to the Capitol. Took to much time a specially for elderly people. The guide was great.
TraciAnne_W –
We had a great tour with Dwayne. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the history of Washington DC in general in addition to the specifics of this tour.
Monica_D –
Tyrone was an excellent tour guide. There were a few people who did not speak English & Tyrone worked very hard to accommodate them & the rest if the group.
Delia_T –
Dwayne was the best tour guide explained every detail and what it meant. Very knowledgeable in every aspect. You learn a lot more from a guide ! Enjoyed it very much ! Thanks glad we booked it !

Our tour guide Vernon was so amazing and accommodating to everyone in the group! We received such a great wealth of historical and fun facts during our tour. Being able to see and learn about The Capitol and Library of Congress in person was very informative. I left knowing more about my own country and the history as it relates to how it was built on slave labor was imperative to understand. The foundations of this country and how it was truly built created a deeper understanding that I would be without if it were not for this tour!
Also bring cash to tip your tour guide as an appreciation for their role in enriching your experience!

Dwayne was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He shared excellent information to enhance our tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the Capitol tour but our favorite was the Library of Congress. Dwayne also shared some tips on sights to see that were not on the tour. We visited these sites and well worth it. I highly recommend this tour.

The Capitol rotunda was fantastic, as were the statues from the states. My sister and I looked forward to seeing the building where legislation occurs. The Library of Congress was stunning.
Christina_B –
Dwayne, our tour guide, was outstanding! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the Capitol and all of the surrounding buildings. This is the best tour experience I’ve had in a long time!
Kristen_C –
The Library of Congress was stunning. It was helpful to have a tour guide, bring us into the building and show us how to access capital led tours. While the tour guide was very nice it was not a very informative tour. He had to spend a lot of time, ensuring that non-English-speaking members who required elevators were taken care of. The first hour was essentially a waste of time spent walking from the national archives up to the capital. Overall not worth the money.
