Phillip Island Travel Information

Phillip Island is a beautiful island located just off the coast of Victoria, Australia. This island is a popular destination among tourists due to its stunning natural beauty and its abundance of wildlife. In this blog post, I will share my experience of visiting Phillip Island and some of the things that you can do while you are there.

I started my journey from Melbourne and drove towards the island, which is located about 140 km southeast of the city. As we approached the island, the scenery changed dramatically, and we were greeted with a stunning coastline and rolling hills. The drive itself was quite scenic, and I would highly recommend driving to the island if you have the opportunity.

Our first stop on the island was the Penguin Parade, which is undoubtedly the most popular attraction on Phillip Island. Every evening, hundreds of Little Penguins come ashore to their burrows after a long day of fishing in the ocean. It is an amazing sight to see so many penguins waddling along the beach and up the sand dunes. We were fortunate enough to witness this magical experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Phillip Island.

Another highlight of our trip was visiting the Koala Conservation Centre, where we got up close and personal with these adorable creatures. The centre has a series of boardwalks through the treetops, which allow you to see koalas in their natural habitat. We were amazed by how many koalas we saw and how close we were able to get to them.

We also visited the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, which is home to the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. The circuit offers guided tours, and we were able to see some of the facilities and even walk on the track. As a racing fan, this was definitely a highlight of my trip.

Phillip Island also has some beautiful beaches, and we visited several of them during our stay. Cape Woolamai Beach, in particular, was stunning, with its crystal clear waters and rugged coastline. We also visited the Nobbies Centre, which offers stunning views of the coastline and is home to a colony of fur seals.

Overall, our trip to Phillip Island was a memorable one. The island has a lot to offer, from its wildlife to its natural beauty, and it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Whether you are interested in wildlife, motorsports or just want to relax on the beach, Phillip Island has something for everyone.
