My wife and I took A private tour on Sunday, May 2, 2019 to Siracusa, Ortigia, and Noto. Our driver, Giuseppe, was on time, drove safely, and had a great personality. His car was clean and comfortable. He shared a tremendous amount of very interesting knowledge about the sites we visited. He attended to all of our needs. We had great conversation about many topics during the drive. Part of our trip was in pouring rain and Giuseppe made sure he dropped us off right at the entrance. He even gave us his own umbrella to use on the tour to keep us dry! It rained on and off during the day, and he was very flexible in allowing us to wait until the rain stopped so that we could use our time to maximize seeing the sites. When we return to visit Sicily, we will request Giuseppe to take us on another tour! I highly recommend Giuseppe for any private tour of Sicily. He is kind and very knowledgeable about the island of Sicily.

The driver did get us to our destination ,however, drove a little too fast for the group’s liking. The vehicle was a little old as well which made the ride a little uncomfortable. Overall we were somewhat satisfied.

Noto was an unexpected joy. The Baroque Architecture is spectacular. Granita at Cafe Sicilia was delicious. Ortigia was spectacular and the Greco-Roman ruins in Siracusa are enchanting. Our driver, Guiseppe, was a great host and guide. We had many laughs with him.

Warning: Do not take this “tour.” It is not a tour at all. Viator called this a Siracusa, Ortegia and Noto tour with an English speaking guide. We were picked up at our hotel by a driver who spoke no English. He dumped us in Noto after we told him we had been there the day before and wanted to delete it from the tour. He didn’t understand this. He somehow managed to tell us that we should tour the city on our own and he would wait for us. Then he would dump us in Siracusa and we would do the same thing. No guide. No info. No tour. Just a dumping. We complained to the driver and to his boss who told us this has happened with Viator before. He had the same problem with tourists two weeks before our experience. When I complained to Viator they refused to give us a refund for this horrible day, useless day. We ended up canceling the tour we had already paid for and hiring a private guide to show us around Siracusa. It was well worth the extra money. No thanks to Viator, we had a good time. We have traveled all over the world and have never been scammed like this.

Noto and Ortigia we’re both beautiful. Siracusa was interesting but ruined since they have decided to build a concrete replica of the 2000 year old amphitheater completely destroying the history. UNESCO should be ashamed!

Nice tour in a nice car. It was Sunday and a lot of stores were closed but that was not anyone’s fault

Our tour guide was Richard who was very nice but drove a little too fast for my comfort. First stop was Noto which Richard walked us around and showed us some churches etc. Then went to the archeological area in Siracusa which was interesting. Richard dropped us off there and came to get us when we were finished. Then to Ortiga, which again we got dropped off for lunch and he gave told us some areas to see. I wish it was a little more “tour guide” and less driver to the town in this area. I guess I misunderstood when I read about the tour. We really didn’t have enough time to walk to the areas he mentioned from where we ate lunch, if we realized how far they were from where we were we would have hired one of the golf cart drivers to take us around the town. Did get to see the castle.

Joseph was an excellent guide. He was so friendly, pointing out things as we went along. We told him we wanted to have a good arancino and he went out of his way to take us to a place he knew. It was delicious!!! He also introduced us to some Catania street food that was not part of our tour. After spending the day with him we felt as though we’d known him a long time. The tour was great!! Saw some beautiful sites and had an excellent lunch by the water.

The locations were very nice and especially Ortigia was beautiful. We expected a better car for the tour, but unfortunately the normal car had a problem so there was an emergency car, not very comfortable but good enough. Our guide Martino was helpful and supportive during the complete tour.

Our driver Ricardo was excellent. He was a safe and attentive guide: nothing was a problem for him. He spoke not too little and not too much and was very flexible in providing options on all the places we stopped at.
