I reserved my Colosseum tickets for 1400, received my tickets and confirmation, but when I arrived the tickets were not slated for the time that I booked and ruined our family travel plans due to our timeline. I called Viator to resolve the issue and placed blame on me and requested that I change my travel plans. I suggest that you book elsewhere to avoid the middle man. I’m currently working to get a refund and this process seems disheartening.

The Coloseum was great once we finally got in. The provider, who was somewhere in India, sent our tickets to my whats app #. Bc we travelled from the USA we were using a Google fi # and our US what’s app didn’t work. So I couldn’t download my tickets. The Coloseum guard wouldn’t let me in bc the invoice didn’t show the necessary QR code. I had to call the provider in India. Thank God he answered the phone and was responsive to my need. Long story short is. Make sure you download your tickets (with ur QR code) to ur phone before you leave the USA.

I was promised that my “ticket/voucher” would be emailed to me 5-6 days before my visit. The company only emailed me a voucher, which was NOT the entrance ticket. I did not know the difference at the time, since the voucher had a scan bar. On the day of the visit, the company tried to call me, from an unknown number in India. I didn’t pick up since I did not recognize the number. When I got to the front of the Colesseum line, I was told that the voucher was not a ticket, and was denied entrance. I texted, emailed, and called the company; at that time, I was told that I should have picked up the call from India, and only then would they email me my actual ticket. How is one supposed to know this?!! After they took my money, they should have emailed me my ticket 5-6 days before hand as they promised. And then, when I got back to the front of the line, then the ticket agent pointed out that the timed entry was for specifically 3:30, an hour away! I did not select that time and nowhere on email confirmation did it state that 3:30 was my time. So I had to wait outside in 95 degree heat for an hour. Worst “skip the line” convenience ticket experience ever.

We could skip the long waiting line to get in. The app could be much better in communication. When ‘get tickets’ you get the voucher, not the real entry tickets.

The self guided tour was good. Just be sure to get instructions about location to enter and start time. It was a little confusing but we figured it out with little trouble. We were able to purchase audio guide once we entered.

A really interesting place to visit. Why do they put a word limit on reviews? Everyone knows what this is.

Everything worked out ok in the end but as we booked through this site we had an issue with the tickets. The operator “sent” the tickets a couple of days ahead of the visit but because of the system they were hidden under “contact operator” rather than collect tickets, which just kept sending us a voucher saying we needed to collect tickets. Very frustrating and we nearly missed our visit because of it.

It was absolutely beautiful the whole thing. You could spend all day there looking at all the sites. Definitely worth it

Really enjoyed being able to explore at our pace. Such wonderful history
Very easy access, the Forum was fabulous

This was legitimate. I was little worried since skip the line tkts were not available anywhere else. The negative was that they sold the free kids tickets but then told me to get tickets at colosseum but they were not available. Fortunately I was able to kid’s tickets from official site to match the time. It’s annoying to not know the time until a few days prior and it’s tough to then match the time with kids tickets last minute since not all times are available.

Viator ruined this for our group of six. Though we each selected the same time for “skip-the-line entrance, we were assigned vastly different times–one-hour separation from the first time to the latest time. I blame Viator and the tour operator who recommended we purchase from them.
We did opt (and paid extra) for a guided tour.

It was super easy to use and I didn’t have any problems or have to wait in the line. Everything was smooth and fast

It wasn’t the experience of the Colosseum that was terrible. It was Viator. I will never use them again. A group of 6 of us purchased the skip the line Colosseum tickets well in advance. We purchased and selected the SAME entry time. We all had our tickets printed up. No sooner did we enter the line when we were told that all of our tickets had different entry times and they were later than the time requested. We purchased the tickets at the same time. We selected the same time frame. It was no fault of ours that we were issued different entry times. I have asked Viator for a refund. We all have. Our requests were denied. Way to stand behind your business, Viator. We ended up purchasing new tickets from another independent operator at the Colosseum. Of course, that meant additional out of pocket expenses. Won’t be using them again! 😡😡😡

A wonderful, interesting tour with amazing views and interesting stories. It was made SO much better because we didn’t have to queue for tickets!

The Colosseum is spectacular and definitely a must see when in Roma, the Palatine hills and the Roman Forum are amazing there is a lot of walking but views are stunning!

Gingerly booked these tickets having read some poor reviews due to limited funds for an alternative tour & being a last minutiae Larry. Though they didn’t send me the tickets instantly (I was sent a voucher) they did sent them one week before. Was pleasantly surprised that the entrance was easily found and the tickets were accepted! Would recommend this if you are after a self guided tour!

I already gave Viator a rating – I don’t know why they are asking for another, but if they want another negative review, I’ll give it to them. We found out the day of our excursion via a phone call that the tour company had a computer glitch that put our booking time 3 hours before the time I actually booked it. We weren’t even in Rome at that point. While standing at the meeting spot at the Colosseum with nobody to meet us, the guy on the phone offered his apologies, but he had no more open bookings for the rest of the day. Fortunately, there were still tickets to be bought at the gate, but unfortunately, it required standing in line for 1.5 hours in the hot sun. What a waste of time. All they could do is give me my money back, but that does nothing to make up for the waste of time and energy.

Nice and easy!
Got the tickets a couple of days before. Had to find a printer at the hotel, but otherwise easy.

We enjoyed our visit to the Colosseum. It was not very clear where our meeting point for Viator was for this ticket, so that added some frustration. Once we figured that out and got it, we had a great time.

This is a must see. The only thing that was confusing was when we were trying to download the tickets, we always got the voucher never the tiket, still it said “download tikets” then we clicked “ contact” and then we saw the pdf with the tickets… its really irretating and missleading viator should fix that one.
