We were really looking forward to visiting at the end of our 3.5 week trip to Australia. It was slightly problematic printing out the tickets while travelling and we couldn’t see why mobile tickets are not acceptable. A bit disappointed we weren’t given a map or any information so we almost missed the “meet the koala” session. This was a bit of a production line and we thought we would find out more about the individual koalas’ stories and why they were in the sanctuary. I did queue up to pat a koala but wasn’t able to actually have an individual photo and I’m not sure it’s entirely ethical either. They are undeniably cute but most are asleep. The cages are a bit stark until the fresh supply of eucalyptus arrives. We enjoyed the Koala Hospital at Port Macquarie more where the intention is to rehabilitate them where possible and return them to nature. And the staff there engage with people a lot more.

Wonderful little sanctuary with lots of animals and
a great interactive experience with some of those animals

The bird show and the sheep dog show are awesome. The snake keeper’s talk was vey informative. Good place to hang around and meet koalas and feed kangaroos.
Elaine_H –
What a great place, from the moment you step in the sanctuary there is so much to see and learn about?
The place is spotlessly clean with very friendly staff who are always willing to help,
Wow it’s such a special feeling and experience to hold a koala and have a picture taken of the moment.
I can not recommend this place enough for all ages
Scott_S –
Very artificial environment for the animals. Poor signage to find your way. Too “zoo” like to feel like a sanctuary.
Darleen_R –
It‘s terrible to see these poor animals (which you can see in wildlife if you go to the right spots) in this very small cages. We leave after 20 minutes.
Amie_M –
Excellent experience within the sanctuary, it was amazing to be so close with Kangaroos & Kola’s being our personal favourite.
It was also extremely straightforward in reaching the sanctuary via the 430 bus from Queen Street!
Well worth a visit!

If you want to see kuala’s, this IS the place to go. They are everywhere, and adorable. You even get to touch them (and for a fee) hold them. My wife was very pleased.

I heard a young boy tell his parents when we were exiting, “That was the best day of my whole life!” For a moment I was wondering if I had said my thoughts out loud, but that is exactly how I felt, too. I am a 66 year old boy at heart I guess. To see the koalas and kangaroos, up close and not behind glass or fences was amazing. Thank you!
Hannah_M –
We were really glad we booked these tickets, the whole experience was great and the animals were very friendly. Also a very easy journey from brisbane city to Lone pine sanctuary via bus so all in all we had a brilliant day.

Walking around solo and seeing all the happy animals made my day. The staff was so nice, everyone was cautious and careful with the animals making sure they are ok.
Lucy the shepherd was my favorite

Unable to attend due to circumstances beyond our control. Still waiting for verdict on refund or postponement. Car and severe traffic problems.
Courtney_O –
This was the perfect trip for a family with small kids. It was small enough that we could see everything and the shows were extremely well planned so that we could go to each one and our kids were interested for the whole time. The koala hold was brief but still an incredible experience we will never forget.
Tania_K –
Great place. Really enjoyed ourselves. Easy to walk around with a pram and have it close by for the shows
Jan_H –
Awesome experience to discover Australia’s wildlife. Get close to Kangaroos, Wallaby’s and Koalas. There is even the chance to see a platypus.

This is a must see when in Brisbane. The demonstration shows are fun and entertaining. The staff are friendly and have a wealth of knowledge.
Of course— the KOALAS!!! So adorable.
It was awesome to pet and hang out with all the kangaroos!
You will have a great time. Easy access by bus or if you like, a boat cruise.
