Viswalingam_N –
Philip island was amazing. Fred kept us awake by his witty commentary . He also gave a very good headsup on the Melbourne city its culture and whatever famous en route Philip island. Thanks Fred.
Paul_H –
We had a great time on our Phillip island trip. It was truly amazing seeing 1000+ penguins emerge from the ocean and come onto land. Also our tour guide (Fred G.) was awesome and I wish we would have had time to do more tours with him.
Only negative is that you aren’t to take pictures. I wish they would have something at least where an approved person took pictures to have more mementos of the trip.
Marcie_L –
We didn’t see seal rock and evidently the seals don’t go there anymore. The penguins were great. The tour guide made the day about him. I think he shares close to 8 stories about other tote participants and how they all loved him. His name was Fred and I wish it was more about our tour and less about him and his book
Madelin_F –
Fred was a great tour guide/host for the journey to Phillip Island. Plenty of stories to entertain us along the way. Would do it again!
Candy_H –
It was a great tour and Fred, our tour guide, was excellent! It was a rainy day but it didn’t stop us from seeing and enjoying everything!
TzeFei_K –
Fred was a truly charismatic tour guide! He did a brilliant job of showcasing Melbourne and Australia’s history, and the importance Aussies place on protecting their indigenous species! Of which, we were privllaged to listen to Fred to talk about and showcase the koalas, kangaroos, penguins, etc. on the tour!
He ensured everyone on the tour bus was involved and that everyone had a great time! Highly recommend this tour! 🙂
Ollie_G –
Alf was a most excellent host. He was friendly and gave great tips for seeing the penguins.
Although it rained throughout the experience it was still worthwhile.
Heidy_L –
My girl enjoyed the Australian animals seen in the trip. Our guide, Fred was friendly and welcoming.
Rita_J –
I loved the whole experience, our tour guide Fred was great, kept us entertained throughout with his amazing stories, definitely will do more tours in the future .
Yosuke_M –
This is the best tour ever! The penguins were so cute! Hundreds of them were running across the beach (20-30 of them at once)… The cutest scene I’ve ever seen in nature.
Also I was able to see wild wallabies on the way to penguins place. They were also cute!
One sad thing was just some ignorant people kept taken photos and videos, even after rangers said “no photo nor video” countless times. I also said “no photo” several times to those people and the reaction I got was “non your business”. I hope rangers or tour guides kick those people out.
By the way, the tour guide SEAN was a great guide! I was the only solo in the group, but thanks to him, I did not feel isolated at all, and had very good conversation.
Anyway, if you like nature, animals, I highly recommend this tour. It’s once in a life time experience!

Waited for 2 hours in the wind and cold n nothing spectacular. There were just abt 3 groups of penguins n time is up to go back to bus.
Debra_J –
Seeing the cute little blue penguins march in at night and head to their nesting sites/homes was really amazing. Kevin did a great job leading our group and making sure we arrived promptly in order to see the koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, etc. in the animal reserve before we headed to Phillip Island. Don’t miss this event—be sure you get the Penguin Plus or Ranger Led experience—rather than general viewing.
Denise_B –
Amazing day, the time flew by .
Our guide was so good, Kevin could not have been more informative or accommodating.
If you do nothing else in Melbourne you must go and see the penguins, it is an incredible experience.
BonnieWallsh –
Sitting in the 1st row to watch penguins emerge from the ocean am walking in front of me was awesome. I had never experienced anything like this. My daughter has raved about this experience since she saw the penguin parade 6 years ago.
Kathryn_L –
Our guide Sam was funny, super knowledgeable and knew how to keep the whole group on track time wise so we could spend a good amount of time at each of the locations. I felt the trip was really well organised and 100% good value for money. I’d definitely do this trip again and any others run by the same tour group!
The penguins are absolutely adorable and it was such an amazing experience. Penguin plus is definitely the way to go.
Thanks again Sam!
Lori_S –
What an amazing day! Sam was an awesome tour guide. The trip exceeded expectations! From petting a Koala feeding kangaroos, walking along the beach and watching the penguin parade, I could not ask for anything more. This is a must trip!
Susanne_I –
Great trip with beautiful nature and animal sightings! Highly recommend 🤩The guide was very knowledgeable and nice and the group always up for a chat – fantastic day!
Margaret_W –
Alex was a great guide for a fun and easy day trip out of Melbourne. My only advice is that there could have been more guidance on where to sit in order to get the best view of the penguins. If penguin plus tickets are available, spring for them!
Stormy_L –
We really enjoyed this tour. Island is beautiful and must see the penguins. Fred was a great tour guide.

Great tour see koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, penguins, and more. We stopped by Woolamai Surf beach and Nobbies too. The highlight of the tour was the penguine parade! Get the penguins plus to get a better view! Sam is a great tour guide. He brought us to a very nice restaurant after. We had a wonderful time. 🤍
