After our tour of the opera building earlier in the day, it was exciting to see the gorgeous red seats filled and the stage…well, the scenery and costumes were incredible. It was disappointing, however, to learn, on the tour, that it entitled us to a $37 discount on opera tickets. Had we only known!

We attended the closing night of the opera Carmen and thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Neither of us are really opera fans but seeing Carmen was excellent. We did know some of the music, which helped. The acoustics in the theatre are amazing!
My only “complaint” was not being able to book specific seats when reserving in Nov/17. As a result our seats were on the very edge where the views from the overhanging balconies & speakers was somewhat restricted. It would have been nice to have an option of where we sat.

We first of all appreciated the seriousness of the reservation organization which did everything to solve the problem we were faced with. The Sydney Opera House is magnificent. You can’t spend a few days in Sydney without going to see a show there. And finally, the show itself (opera “La Bohème”), which stuck us in our armchairs.
