What to expect

The tour departs daily from Cambridge and heads along Tasmania’s East Coast, flying towards and over the Freycinet Peninsula.
Freycinet National Park (established in 1916) is described as home to dramatic pink granite mountains, secluded bays, crystal-clear waters, and pristine white beaches —
including Wineglass Bay, one of Tasmania’s (and arguably Australia’s) most iconic beaches.

From Freycinet, you’ll fly over the seal colony of Île des Phoques before continuing to Maria Island, where you land and begin a guided exploration
of the island national park.

On Maria Island, the experience includes time to wander through forests of magnificent blue and white gums (some over 400 years old and unique to the island),
and to visit Fossil Cliffs with shellfish fossil beds described as unlike any other in the world. The island is also presented as a wildlife haven,
home to rare and endangered species like the Swift Parrot and Cape Barren Goose, plus wombats, kangaroos, and the
Tasmanian Devil.

While you take in the scenery and wildlife, your guide prepares a picnic lunch (gourmet seafood platter) with Tasmanian premium white wine, enjoyed with views over the
northern end of the national park. After your time on Maria, you board the aircraft again and return to Hobart.
