See the River Confluence that gave Kuala Lumpur its name, the Lake Gardens, the National Monument, and the King’s Palace.
Continue to the limestone caverns of Batu Caves, crowned by the towering Murugan statue. If you wish, climb the
272 rainbow steps to the main temple cave and enjoy sweeping views (modest attire advised).
In the late afternoon, head to Kuala Selangor—nicknamed the fireflies village. After a scenic stop at Bukit Melawati to
encounter silvered leaf monkeys, board a boat at dusk and drift along the mangrove channels as thousands of fireflies sparkle in the dark.
