According to the description, the pick-up was scheduled for 08:00-08:30. At 4:20am on the day of the excursion, we received notification that the pickup would be moved to 9:30am. All in all an interesting tour through the Chiang Dao Cave, with little background information being explained, rather the cave itself having an effect on you. It was really great to walk through the cave with an oil lamp and also to crawl through one or the other tunnel. After lunch here, we set out on a kayak tour. The tour was great and easy to do even for beginners. We got a good briefing.

I really I enjoyed the trip. With the cave there are lots of bats and I got to crawl through some small passages. Worth the effort. I took a backpack in a would recommend not doing that as there are spots with a very tight squeeze. The rafting was also good. I was told it was about 6klm, but it felt more like 10+ klm of pleasant paddling and flowing with the current.

The tour was very relaxed. We really liked the cave. You should not take an overly large and heavy backpack with you. We saw bats and also spiders. You can also visit the cave without a guide. The kayak tour was not demanding. Beginners shouldn’t have any problems. It should be mentioned that you don’t drive through a jungle, but drive along it. That was a pity. The kayak tour lasted an hour in total. So for the somewhat unsportsmanlike people among you such feasible 🙂 All in all you can recommend the tour, but it is not a highlight.
